I chose it because it was the cheapest option with a private bathroom I could find in Pratteln - turns out it was a good choice. The lady at the check in was very nice and helpful. The place is beautiful, with gorgeous flowers at the windows outside. The hallway going to the room looks pretty and cozy. The room was wonderful - clean, practical and tastefully decorated. There's a safe deposit box, a mini fridge if you need to store fruit or something, a cosmetic mirror in the bathroom. The WiFi was excellent and you had the possibility to charge your devices via USB or power outlet right next to the bed. There's a busy street outside, but the window does a good job of keeping the noise out when you close it. It's pretty close to the Z7, which is very convenient if you want to see a concert there. Pretty close to a couple of stores. There's also some kind of chocolate factory nearby, so the air in the area smells like chocolate at times (tip: there's nice chocolate at a very good price to be found at the factory store). Although the breakfast does come with limited options for such a Hotel but the quality of most products are really good. for example cheese and milk and range of breads seemed local. You are also asked for the omelette options which is nice ( It was the best eggs I had in a hotel). Also there is a buffet in each floor of the hotel with drinks and snacks which is free and was helpful as we checked in late and no restaurant was open in the area. The only things that I wish were better in the breakfast was the juice as it was not fresh. They didn’t send me a door code and there was noone there on the time of the approved check in time. I called them the whole day on the day of travel and they were unreachable so I had to book somewhere else. The property didn’t even react to messages a day later or the day after I also send them to get a doorcode like spoken about on the phone before I booked. Now I have to wait five days for booking.com to look into it and hopefully send my money back. I wished I had booked this via Paypal for buyer protection because this is just bullshit. The hotel is nice and spacious with restaurants and the staff is excellent! Very helpful and kind. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choices, fresh foods (especially liked the fresh orange juice squeeze machine). The free ride from Hotel to Airport was seamless. The hotel provides a free ticked which can be used in the bus and train. Take Bus 50 from Basel Airport which takes you to the train station at Basel. Check the platform number. Bottmingen is a very nice, quiet place, with plenty of restaurants and bars. For us, we wanted somewhere between Basel and where our relatives live in Biel Benken, so was very well placed for us. Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel.
Bottmingen is a great neighbourhood to stay outside Basel. It has an efficient tram link to the centre, but it is much quieter. The municipal pool at Bottmingen is superb and very well run.
