We loved the restaurants we found in Victoria.
We loved the restaurants we found in Victoria. We also went to the Butchart Gardens which were spectacular. Our son rented a bike and enjoyed riding around. We did a lot of walking and enjoyed the lovely views of the Empress and the Parliment Building as well as the harbor and the colorful Boat houses in the harbor.Guest review byWarren - 10.0

This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way around most of the city and beyond, but it is always a great place to be. We love the well planned Harbour walkways, many events in the parks, the beach trails. Our favourite beach walks are Piper's Lagoon and Neck Point. There are many good music venues, restaurants, scenic drives and walks. We easily found side roads that were basically parallel to the highway to get to and from downtown. Nanaimo has has a LOT to offer any visitor of any age! Can't wait to return!Guest review byTerry & PatCanada - 10.0
I first visited Tofino 40 years ago.
I first visited Tofino 40 years ago. It is now more like a tourist spot and less like a fishing village. The natural beauty has not changed. The people are still very friendly. If you like biking you should plan for that. There is a 40 km bike path mostly through the forest, and mostly flat.Guest review byMarkCanada - 10.0

Ucluelet is a beautiful town on the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island. There are beaches close by (the water is pretty cold, though) and many places to hike. We found that Ucluelet is much less touristy than Tofino. So if you like the touristy stuff, Tofino may be a better place for you. The whole area is surrounded by natural beauty.Guest review byJudge - 10.0

Not much to do, really; except relaxing in the hotel facilities and enjoying the scenery. Parksville could benefit greatly from a few more nice dining facilities and cafés. Also, unlike towns such as Campbell River, Parksville did not offer any opportunities for browsing and shopping.Guest review bylaal - 6.0
Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit.
Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit. We visited in older to take the boat trip that goes down the inlet down to Bamfield and back. That was a very enjoyable trip except for the high price of food on board the boat.Guest review byAnonymousIndonesia - 8.0

Port Hardy is a seaport and connection point to the ferry service to more northern islands and coastal communities along BC's coast all the way to Prince Rupert. It is small, Indigenous-run community that has considerable services and courteous and competent staff at each point of service we experienced.Guest review byBruce StantonCanada - 8.0
