- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 543 reviewsThe Auberge is in a beautiful location. Set in their own extensive piece of wilderness next to a lake. We’d booked 2 rooms in the lodge but were offered a chalet in arrival (it wasn’t compulsory - we got to look at both options before deciding). The chalet had cooking facilities and space for family time. The owners were incredibly helpful and took us for a quad bike tour of the area to see beaver dams and to look for other wildlife (unfortunately we didn’t see any although there was evidence of moose footprints in the mud). It’s very well located for exploring the Tadoussac region.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 237 reviewsWe stayed in the biggest chalet (red) and it was very nice and comfortable with four bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen, Amazing terrace with a view on the sea - we could have stayed the entire day whale watching the bay - walking distance to whale watching boat trips - Incredible place - recommended.Guest review byClaudiaSwitzerland

Nice room with a balcony looking at the saint Lawrence. The staff were very nice. I cannot speak alot of French, and they weren't completely comfortable with English, but with Google translate we got through and were laughing by the end.Guest review byWhitneyCanada

Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Parking is much too expensive, but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. The whales didn't show up. For a tourist town, too many signs are French only with no English translations!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

My visit was to ski at Mont Ti-Basse. Great place to learn how to ski and practice ski racing. Good place to spend a day if you are OK with small local style ski area. Check before visiting to see if all runs are open and all lifts ( 4) are operational. The St Pancrase brewery and restaurant are great. Unfortunately Covid shut down restaurants for this visit.Guest review byElanS2Canada - 10.0

Sept-Iles is a lovely little seaside town, fully walkable in an afternoon. There are a couple historic sites to visit, and a number of fresh seafood offerings. The scenery and sunsets add drama to the quiet vibe. Nice place to visit. You'll be bored if you stay for much more than a couple days though.Guest review byACanada - 8.0

Good for a night, Forestville is a drive-through town with lots of grocery stores, car repair shops and hotels. Forestville is not really on the ocean, so if you want proper views I'd suggest drive further south towards Les Escoumis.Guest review byJulian TeakleCanada - 10.0
Everything was great.
Everything was great. We weren't able to check in on the first night of the booking because the ferry was canceled due to bad weather. When we arrived for the second stay, the host told us he was able to rent the room and even though he didn't have to, he refunded us our money. I also liked the fact that even though we had to leave at 4 AM the next morning, breakfast was available. The host was very friendly. He carried our bags to the room and explained everything in great detail.Guest review byJackUnited States - 10.0

I think you really only need one night in Tadoussac, unless you really want to spend a lot of time touring around the small town. We spent two nights, out of a ten day road trip from Montreal to Saguenay, and while it was definitely one of the most beautiful spots, it was also by the far the most expensive. Had I known what I know now, I would have stayed in Les Escoumins, which is only 20 minutes from Tadoussac (and also really cute but less touristy), camped nearby, or stayed only one night. A lot of the restaurants are overpriced and not very good. We had a hard time deciding on where to eat breakfast and lunch especially - not a lot of good cheaper options. A couple of cute coffee shops but I was disappointed by the coffee. I recommend the microbrewery for their beer and poutine, Chez Mathilde for their tasting menu (expensive but so worth it), Cafe Boheme (pricy but delicious - try the seafood risotto) and walking along the waterfront. We booked a zodiac whale watching tour with Vacances Essipit in Les Bergeronnes, about 20 minutes from Tadoussac, which was really nice and more affordable than AML tours - also it's Indigenous-run, which we were happy to support. We saw a humpback whale and some seals. Was a bit cold (wear lots of layers!) but really fun. We also went to Cap des Bons Desirs and the Marine Environment Discovery Center (we preferred Cap des Bons Desirs, and saw some porpoises and a fin whale there).Guest review byKatrinaCanada - 8.0

Sept-Iles is a quiet sea-side town, characterized by its ore-shipping facilities and it's fishing harbour. There is not much to do in the way of attractions other than the old fort. Walk the trail beside the ocean. Buy fresh seafood. Book your hotel early, they sell out almost instantly if there is any disruption of the train schedule or flight bookings.Guest review byACanada - 10.0
The access to the St.
The access to the St. Lawrence River and the whales and seals that inhabit it. The boat ride to spot whales was a little too wet for me…soaking to be precise. However, it did provide some lovely whale sightings. The personnel were helpful and informative, but were sometimes too under time pressure…how do you provide detailed explanations in two languages and keep the material engaging as well as relevant and informative? Good job though!Guest review byYvonneCanada
