Excellent location, wonderful service and a large room with full amenities. We had a one bedroom suite, wonderfully spacious and well kept. A large balcony overlooking a street and trees etc. Quiet enough to keep the window open at night. A fully equipped kitchen with a great coffee machine too... The staff were polite and very attentive and made us feel right at home. Had dinner one evening at the restaurant and it was also very good. A great place to stay in Victoria.

A beautiful lodge in an amazing place. The rooms were comfortable and intimate, though I had booked a room with a view on the lake, but in fact the view was more on the roof of the neighboring lodge. Still, the place is so stunningly beautiful that even the roof contributed to the charm. Strongly recommend the walk around the lake. And also strongly recommend the restaurant, our dinner there was excellent and the service impeccable. So a big thank you to all the staff. PS: If you light up the fireplace in the room, the smoke alarm will go on and a very nice person will knock on your door to ask if all is OK. So may be, open the window to let the smoke out.

    I love this cosmopolitan city!

I love this cosmopolitan city! The population is so varied, and you can see how this has turned the city into a fascinating place with a multitude of interesting art, dining options and stores. The public art is fantastic and people are very kind and peaceful. While there is a lot of traffic, the drivers mostly remain unruffled. You can get around the city easily by public transportation or various kinds, like subway, bus, water taxi, etc. There are a lot of things to do and see, from planetariums and art museums, to shopping, live music and relaxing.

We loved the restaurants we found in Victoria. We also went to the Butchart Gardens which were spectacular. Our son rented a bike and enjoyed riding around. We did a lot of walking and enjoyed the lovely views of the Empress and the Parliment Building as well as the harbor and the colorful Boat houses in the harbor.

We really enjoyed the Secwepemc Museum. It was a little complicated to find and the museum is not big but well presented and organized and easy to navigate. The stories of the culture of the Secwepemc people, government involvement, and the boarding school were all well told and illustrated. The small gift shop had some interesting material for sale.

Kelowna is a lovely city nestled in the Okanagan Valley. As with other cities in the most beautiful parts of Canada, it has grown somewhat since our last visit, but continues to be well-maintained and easy to navigate. This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way around most of the city and beyond, but it is always a great place to be. We love the well planned Harbour walkways, many events in the parks, the beach trails. Our favourite beach walks are Piper's Lagoon and Neck Point. There are many good music venues, restaurants, scenic drives and walks. We easily found side roads that were basically parallel to the highway to get to and from downtown. Nanaimo has has a LOT to offer any visitor of any age! Can't wait to return!

It's a fun city year-round and beautiful down by the beach, especially up by Okanagan Lake where there is an excellent walkway. Lots of fun shops, love the small museum at the library, and an interesting art gallery. Plenty of great places to eat if you are gluten free/dairy free. Even vegan!
