United KingdomAmazing recently refurbished hotel in American River. The rooms were spacious and super comfy beds. We actually spotted the glossy black cockatoo from our balcony. The hosts were super friendly and served a delicious breakfast every morning and we went for their 7 course fine dining for dinner where we got to watch sunset and was the best meal we had on the island hands down

AustraliaAfter a previous booking being cancelled and to get this accommodation on short notice, I was impressed. ane was lovely and very accommodating. The unit was great for our 3 night stay. She told us of its recent upgrade. We found the essentials provided were fine for us. We did make a couple of suggestions for kitchen utensils and was thanked for feedback.
The price was impressive and I thought was great value. Very comfy bed and pillows. The air con did the job on the warm nights.

Much space, kitchen, bathroom and separate sleeping rooms for the whole family. In the early morning, one may see kangaroos and a koala on the property. It is a perfect place to explore the whole island. Shops and restaurants can be found after a short drive in Kingscote. The town had everything we needed for the trip, including a couple of fabulous op shops/book shops. We found the short way into town from the property and explored the coast in both directions, in addition to our longer day trips to different parts of the island. We divided the island into chunks - it only takes an hour to get to the other end - and did north coast one day, south coast another, Penneshaw and surrounds another, and Flinders Chase (twice), plus one day to look around Kingscote itself. Millpond’s location in a quiet street in Penneshaw just minutes from the ferry terminal was our pick. It met our requirements for a quiet holiday by the sea. The hosts - always responsive - evidently took pains to anticipate the needs of guests - we didn’t lack for anything, from the very well-equipped kitchen to comfortable living, dining rooms and bedrooms. It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way. Only shame is people are allowed to drive on it, risking the precious wildlife and environment. All the local sites are amazing.
All the local sites are amazing. My favourite was Cape de Couedic and Admirals Arch. The development and natural scenery and spectacular, seascape views are outstanding and most of it is accessible for wheelchairs with quality board walking. I Highly recommend a visit to Kangaroo Island. An amazing and challenging level 3 hike to Snake Lagoon is well worth the effort to the Beach. We stayed 3 nights, after staying our first night in Kingscote after a late ferry trip from the mainland. . The cabin is situated adjacent to the farmhouse driveway, the cabin's gate was closed, so when we arrived we drove to the farmhouse but nobody welcomed us so I had to call the owner for instructions. The cabin appears to be almost new so the facilities are excellent. We dined once at the Parndarna Hotel and had a good pub meal. What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks the glimpses of the upcoming beach urges you forward to explore.The rocks open up to an amazing small beach with a rockpool safe for swimming. We were the first people on the beach that day so it was amazing to only see our footprints in the sand.After a great time at the beach head over to Stokes Bay Cafe opened from 11 -5 daily meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. You are a short drive to Pandana for all your grocery needs as Stokes Bay doesn't have a shop for general items. Driving around we were centrally located half way on the island to go and see Kangaroo Island spirits, lavender farm, eucalyptus farm, wool shed, admirals arch and remarkable rocks just make sure you get a entry ticket to Flinders chase the visitor centre Cafe didn't open until 9.30 and didn't accept cash at the Cafe. Short drive to Kingscote to go for lunch or to do some shopping. Had a great time had a small car not a 4wd but still went to all the places the roads were safe and signs easy to follow.
