Exquisitely renovated beautiful old house with all the modern brand new comforts that you can imagine. Very upscale and beautifully decorated rooms.     The location was perfect for a romantic and peaceful escape. The design and cleanliness was exceptional. There was a complimentary continental breakfast that was a nice touch. The bath tub was an absolute highlight. So incredibly spacious and beautiful! It was also only a short drive to local sights and restaurants. The sunsets and sunrises were incredible and the perfect spot to see them in all their glory! The wildlife didn’t come close to the villa like I would have hoped, but that’s out of anyone’s control and didn’t impact our stay in the slightest.

Location was ideal and on a main outlet road but traffic noise was minimal. Parking was inside the motel and right outside the door.     Amazing location with Beautiful views. We received a nice welcome hamper that was left with some cereal and and snacks. The place was quiet comfortable and you could just stay in and enjoy the place. There was a jacuzzi which was amazing. We also saw some Kangeroos grazing the morning we left.

    Weekends are very crowded, but nicely quiet on a weekday. Plenty of accommodation, eating and shopping options in the town. Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens are impressive, with a lookout tower and cafe. Lovely historic buildings and pubs. Nearby Hepburn Springs has nice walks and the bathhouse for pampering. Good walk to the top of Mt Franklin if you dont mind uphill walking and some rocky areas near the end.

The local eateries are a short drive from local accommodation and are popular with both locals and tourists alike. It's the perfect weekend or week long getaway destination. I'll be back!

    I love coming to Castlemaine, it is a beautiful town with friendly locals. It has a great theatre/cinema & many artistic spaces & galleries. I love the Fish'n'chips on the corner & the wonderful Malaysian restaurant. The bookshop is a gem & do not forget to take away bottles of the local non-alcoholic apple cider: it tastes of fresh apples.

    The hotel was beautiful. The railway station was magnificent. Both definitely worth seeing. Maryborough is easy to get around. We ate at Bangkok Thai Restaurant. Excellent service at this restaurant and food excellent too. All in all a lovely place to visit.

    The resort was clean and tidy, although could use with some updating, it felt a little tired. The spa in the room was by far the highlight, the view looking out the window was peaceful. We were excited to go to the pool and spa area as it looked so good on the website, but we were disappointed when we got there that the spa had been drained and was not in use. We already knew that the day spa area itself was closed for renovations so this just added to the disappointment, and I'm not sure if this was all factored into the cost or not as the room rate was ok but could have been less considering lots of facilities were not in use. Also it seemed odd that the pool area closes at 5pm when the staff go home, bit of a rush to have a swim as check in is 3pm. The meal at the restaurant was delicious but very expensive, I got the steak which was an extra $10 and then sides another additional cost, I felt the steak was overpriced once you added sides. The entrée lettuce gems were divine, and we thought the rolls with entrée would have been a nice local sour dough or similar, but they were just the regular oval shaped rolls that we get at the local supermarket at home. The wait staff at the restaurant were fantastic and very welcoming and friendly. I would suggest getting an upper floor room as you can hear the spa above when you are in a ground floor room, it wasn't a huge deal but just a tip for those who are unsure whether to pay the extra cost, I think it would be worth it and I hope we return sometime in the future and we will do the same. The area is gorgeous, so many great little stops along the way from Ballarat, and Woodend is a cute little town. As the restaurant at the resort wasn't serving breakfast, we went into town to Paysanne cafe and give it 5 stars.

    Its a small town that offers delicious Pub meals . We ate at The American , a hotel with a fantastic bistro. Its close to Daylesford, close to Clunes and even Ballarat. We explored Hanging Rock at Woodend, the Sunday market and the Mill markets in Daylesford. Trentham Falls are well worth a visit
