No transport needs a car.
No transport needs a car. Winter main st shopping closes early. Lovely to browse through and a mall too. Granite Island is the SHOWPIECE. Horse drawn vintage carriage by Clydesdale's, tourists love it. Op shops fun for elderly folk and grandkids. A quiet in Winter destination. Lovely caravan parks . Books shops to browse new and olde , also found in nearby coastal towns. Bike riding to the Bluff outdoors adventures , surfing nearby. FUN TOWN /laidback too .Guest review byJEFFREYAustralia - 10.0
Great wine region
Great wine region All the wineries are reasonably close together, but you either need a car (with a nominated skipper), or go on a wine tour. There are some large wineries and some small boutique wineries. All the staff at the cellar doors were very knowledgeable Some wineries did lunch. There were enough options for evening meals in the town.Guest review byHarryAustralia - 10.0
A great gem of the SA spot.
A great gem of the SA spot. The golf course and club are also amazing and so picturesque. You are always guaranteed to encounter kangaroos there in large numbers. The new beach / surf club is also great with good food - try their seafood burger, really nice.Guest review byFarzanAustralia - 10.0

Encounter Bay is beautiful, quiet and peaceful for a nice relaxing weekend away. Watching the sunrise over encounter bay from the studio apartment was amazing. Local deli always providing great coffee and snacks and the cafe on the lake providing an amazing big breakfast!Guest review byTamikaAustralia - 10.0
Port Elliot has a lovely mix of boutiques, cafes and pubs.
Port Elliot has a lovely mix of boutiques, cafes and pubs. It is a smaller place to stay from Victor Harbor, which is easily to drive to. Port Elliot has amazing beaches all within easy walking distance of each other. It is a great base to visit the Fleurieu Peninsular, Goolwa, Hindmarsh Isalnd and the the wine regions. Highly recommend.Guest review byKerryLeeAustralia - 10.0

The town of Goolwa has a wonderful heritage ambience as well as a maritime seaside feel as it is close to the Murray River, beach and the Coorong national park. A good base to explore other areas. Plenty of cafes and eateries and these are generally good value. The town also has some large supermarkets for self catering. Town is surprisingly busy in mid winter exuding a positive buzz.Guest review byFrancescoAustralia - 8.0

Port Noarlunga was a surprisingly good spot for a short (or longer holiday). There were plenty of dining options in easy walking distance and the beach was great. Water quality was excellent during our stay in February, with amazing clarity that enabled us to see plenty of marine life from the Jetty. Diving of snorkelling on the reef would have been a good experience - just remember to take a wetsuit as the water is pretty cool. There are major shopping facilities less than 5 minutes drive from the beachfront if that is your thing. The location also provides easy access to the wine region of McLarenvale (just 15 minutes easy drive). The coastline to the south is really quite spectacular and well worth a drive, with lots of sandy beaches and secluded bays.Guest review byTerryAustralia - 8.0

Great stopping point or jumping off point on the way to and from Kangaroo Island. Easy access to expressway to continue the journey inbound to Adelaide but also quick to get to Morphett Vale, Christie’s Beach etc.Guest review byMenz - 10.0
Great town and lovely friendly people.
Great town and lovely friendly people. There is delicious food, wine and beautiful countryside... What more could you ask for! We loved Hugh Hamilton, Ortus, Mollydooker and Lloyd Brothers as our standout wineries. Really lovely staff, delicious cheese boards or snacks and each venue had its own special atmosphere. And really welcoming to kids!Guest review byKathrynAustralia - 10.0
Stunning rooms and views.
Stunning rooms and views. I would highly recommend staying here! The minibar/in room wine prices were extremely fair. The BBQ and heater provided on the patio plus the high end espresso machine in the room, along with the Kevin Murphy bathroom products made this experience feel extremely luxurious.Guest review byKaitlynCanada
