FAQs about hotels in Tyrol
A Ski Heaven In the Heart of Alps
One of the top European ski destinations, the Austrian Tyrol is divided into 2 parts: a larger North Tyrol with the region’s capital Innsbruck, and a smaller East Tyrol. Its pristine beauty and a variety of activities make it a haven for outdoor lovers.
Whether you’re into skiing, hiking or mountaineering, the Tyrol provides both great facilities and conditions so you can enjoy your favourite activity to your heart’s content. Its most famous ski resort, Ischgl, is part of the world’s largest ski area and offers 238 km of well-prepared pistes, vibrant nightlife and annual concerts from pop stars.
For something more low-profile, visit the resorts of St Anton or Kitzbuhel, both equally popular, with a lot of ski lifts, slopes ranging from easy to difficult, and cable cars. In summer, make use of the mountain bike paths and great hiking trails.
Innsbruck is the Tyrol’s only city and as well as being a wintersports centre capable of hosting the Winter Olympics twice, it’s also a cultural and educational city, with a world-renowned university and a variety of events. You can admire the stunning mountain views from the cosy cafés and bars of which Innsbruck has plenty.
So whether you’re looking for a stylish chalet, a fully-equipped apartment or luxury Tyrol hotels, Booking.com has over 4100 different properties on offer to make your stay perfect!

I loved the beauty of Innsbruck and the friendly, kind locals. There was a wine festival and the atmosphere was wonderful with local musicians dressed in Tyrolean outfits and playing delightful music. The shops were great with many beautiful, well-made things to buy. It was delightful to walk into the old town by the river and the water was a gorgeous teal colour. Also drinking water is very pure and does not have fluoride which was a bonus. I was so taken with Innsbruck that I can’t wait to return.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Loved walking the Parish Trail (Pfarrerbichl) with scenic views of the town and lake (and religious interest if so inclined). Nanni’s had a delicious goulash & apple strudel; Cafe Nouveau had a spicier goulash, even better! Batzenhäus had great local food. Several good grocery stores in town to use for picnic lunches on hikes.Easy train ride to Mittenwald (ride the Karwendelbahn!) or Innsbruck if the Rosshütte is not appealing to you.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.Guest review byGeorg.AlAlbania - 10.0

Our stay in Sölden was delightful, with our hotel perfectly located near the ski lift. The phenomenal après-ski, especially at Giggijoch summit on Friday, made our visit thoroughly enjoyable and extra fun.Guest review byIris DrofnIceland - 6.0
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also...
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also attracts summer visitors. An evening band performance and afternoon childrens events in the Kurpark were welcome surprises as we had no prior knowledge they were taking place. The local (free) Tourist Card gives small price reductions on cable cars and some other attractions but, in stark contrast to neighbouring Salzburg Province, lacks rail and/or bus travel benefits. Kitzbuhel has two railway stations. We did not find a street map showing how to get to hotels at either, The rail station by the cable car is unstaffed. UK tourists were seen using the ticket machine to buy outward and return tickets, unaware that a group ticket (Einfach Raus) would have cost less. Kitzbuhel was one of 5 stops on a longer trip. It was not our favourite.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
