We have got the upgrade and the room has views of both Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. One from the balcony, the other from the window. It was lovely and relax stay. Staff did arrange tickets for us to both castles with great recoommendation. The property is in a short walk to castles, museum and the lake.

Honestly, everything was just so lovely. From the room to the restaurant, everything was so perfect. We appreciated the snacks in the room for us on our arrival and the gorgeous breakfast you prepared for us in the morning was just to die for. The room decor was amazing and it was spotlessly clean. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. Staff were really welcoming and knowledgeable about the area/the food and wine they were serving. Access to the nearby lido was the icing on the cake - what amazing views!

Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

    Strategic location, 2 min walk from Fussen train station and bus station. Bus station is where you can take bus no.73 or no.78 to Neuschwanstein Castle. Hotel provides vouchers where you could use for bus and discounts in some of the museums, this is very thoughtful and convenient!     Stay near center. Ride E-bike around lake (ca 35 km). Swim in lake! Visit castle but only hike up there if your joints/heart can handle it. It’s very steep and ca 40 min walk up hill. Beautiful town :)

    The hotel is perfectly situated only minutes from the local town but in a peaceful setting with incredible views. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful retreat with the added advantage of so many things to do. The hotel have bikes for you to explore the local area and a must is Neuschwanstein Castle opposite. We loved it and will be back.

    Magical place to stay for winter holidays, surrounded with lots of ski and tobogganing tracks, great communication with another villages. Food scene quite limited , same as night entertainment, I would rather to have a bit more of this to spend betters nights.

    I did not enter any of the castles or museums. I had done that 50 years ago, as a student in Munich. I liked just walking around, soaking up the tourist vibe, predominantly Chinese. I even liked the rainy-sunny mix of weather, so characteristic of the Allgaue region.

    We loved the tiny town with everything so close by. It was so clean and the people really lovely. It was fantastic catching up with family after 28 years!! We had the best breakfast at Hotel Lowen and a really great pizza and pasta night at I’ll Castro . Very good value and excellent traditional food. We used Nesselwang as a base and daily went on trips. We visited Salzburg, Innsbruck , Lake Konigsee, Lake Konstanz, Heididorf in Switzerland and so much more.

    This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature, walking, hiking, biking, swimming in nearby lakes. My hotel, Alpenblick, was a perfect location for all of this. Having a car helps, but there are buses to most places in the area and train connections from nearby towns. One big hub is Steingaden from where you can get to most places. This area is a good place to slow down, relax, recuperate if you are living in a fast paced city and all that it entails. People are friendly and helpful if the hotel staff are anything to go by.

    We loved staying in an apartment in the same building that the family was living in, in a rural location close to hiking. The family was wonderful and told us much about the area which was fascinating to us. We had a car, so that was very good since there are not many options for public transportation from the little village. Our main goal was to visit the Tannheim area with its famous cow parade every September which we did. We enjoyed being able to prepare our own food in the apartment kitchen.

    A small, quiet town (or big village!) but excellently located for many kms of walking and cycling routes (and cross-country skiing in Winter - I was there in late May, but would like to return in winter), covering easy to hard options; Also close to two lovely lakes (the Vilsalpsee and the Haldensee)

Very friendly staff/service, clean, lovely breakfast, very good cook, beautiful view to the lake and the rolling hills...... We had a tour inside the Castle of Neuschwanstein, went to Reutte/Austria and to Oberammergau near Zugspitze. The dark beer King Ludwig is my favorite!
