Wonderful place to stop over on my travels through Europe by motorcycle. The room was huge and super comfortable, the facilities were excellent and staff all lovely. I had dinner in the restaurant too and it was fantastic. Breakfast was exceptional - the best spread I've ever had whilst on my European road trips. There are also communal areas with books and games, which is a bonus.

The registration at the reception was very quick and friendly. The receptionist Philipp gave me full information about hotel and Velden area, that was very helpful. Also he upgrades the room. The room was vey clean and modern, in light colors as I like. I like the bathroom and shower with all nesessary detailes. Also I like slippers that had there own fabric, not like in other hotels. Room had a big balcony to very quet yard, that was surprising in the middle of the town. At breakfast was all that you need, incuding salmon and variety of fruits. The lobby of hotel looks modern, photos enclosed

We’ve been staying at lots of accommodations on our frequent journeys through Germany and Austria, but this place STANDS OUT ! It is not just the standing location and the villa itself,it’s the family who runs the place. From the reception to the dinner in their restaurant the owner made us feel so welcome. We had dinner relevant to a 5 star restaurant meal, freshly cooked and one of the best breakfast for a small place like this. Good luck to the people owning this place! My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Berghof in July. We were welcomed warmly by Sylvia and our experience was filled with Gemütlichkeit. The room was comfortable and the bed was nice. Everything was clean and in good condition. The balcony afforded very nice views of the countryside and was lovely to sit and enjoy that even though there was no lake view from the property. The Millstättersee area is so picturesque and the air is so fresh and clean. We really enjoyed the excellent and tasty breakfast available each day and left us wanting nothing more. Everything was very fresh and there was lots of selection available. The whole experience was very good and we would not hesitate to return. The area is very quiet so good to unwind and relax.

There are 3 swimming pools, indoor and outdoor, and also one next the lake, you can also choose to swim in the lake. There are other water activities but we don’t have enough time to experience.     It was all positive, the old buildings, town squares, the old restaurants in the "downtown", the spectacular views and restaurants on the lake, walking around those areas around the lake, the weather and how nice everyone was. Plus we have great friends that live there and they are the best, they showed us around to great places and we had a great time.

    Velden is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in Austria or Europe. I drive there every year at least once for a weekend in summer. The restaurants and food options could get better, but the rest of everything is perfect

    Sadly our hotel could not offer an evening meal as they had a group staying, but there are some excellent restaurants in the town: Pörtschacher Stüble, Sissi’s, Werzers Bootshaus (newly opened in May 2025) and Little Italy were our favourites. The young waitress in Little Italy was a lesson in how to wait at tables-such professionalism and always a big smile! We are in our 70s and less mobile than we once were, but getting around was very easy. The ferry runs all day; we spent many happy hours on it. You can buy a day ticket for about 22 euros and can hop on and off. We bought a weekly ticket for 48 euros and got our money’s worth! We loved it so much that I hesitate to tell people about it! Ryanair flies to Klagenfurt twice a week. From there a 15 minute taxi ride brings you to Pörtschach.

    It's easy to drive from there to the many lakes in Carinthia, as well as to Klagenfurt, and the hosts provide an abundance of catalogs and brochures on what else there is to do in the region. But it's also an absolute pleasure to just stay home, sit outside by the pool and have a swim, or just relax indoors. We are self catering, so we did our own shopping, and supermarkets are within a few minutes drive. The kitchen is very well equipped so we could cook whatever we wanted to cook. We can't wait to go back! Truly!

    Wonderful place in the Alps next to the Millstättersee with pass access to most of the lake facilities for free. Very child friendly place with a great garden/playground. Excellent breakfast and big spacious room immaculately clean. And most importantly: very kind and very relaxed hosts! Highly recommended.

    The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. Short walk to the abbey which is now an arts center and to the local beach although you could swim in the lake right from the hotel property.

    We visited in December, over New Years.

    We visited in December, over New Years. Seeboden is well located to reach lots of hiking trials after only a few mins car drive (or bus). The ski area Goldeck is also only 15-20mins away by car. Shops, hotels and restaurants are all in walking distance. The view from the lake shore is beautiful and calming. We ate most of the time in our hotel, Moserhof, because we liked their food a lot. Once we ventured out to Postwirt and again we liked it so much that we went back another time. Great food for decent money. And the service really surprised us in both places. Super friendly people who anticipate your next wish before you have voiced it, but all without being intrusive.

    The whole area of Worthersee lake is worth visiting. It offers a lot of activities for all (tourism, cycling, swimming, water activities). The lake is the warmest in Austria and its water is crystal clear and warm as the summer sea. All the nature around is beautiful and calm.

    Nice place but too small.

    Nice place but too small. Its for relax if you are kind of "stay at place" people. Nature great, but to much privat grounds around the lake. No walk way right next to the lake. Like it is f.e. at Bled lake. Its sit and enjoy the view, air and peace.
