The hotel exceeded our expectations! the staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room is clean, there is everything you need from towels to dishes. The breakfast is delicious and varied!     The staff was very friendly (especially the lady at the check-in). We had a beautiful spacious room with a balcony that provided panoramic views of the lake. The first minibar is included, which is very nice. The bathroom was fantastic as well, very large with a beautiful sink, and a huge plus was the amazing view of the lake from the bathtub. The hotel was very clean, and the pool was also great (an added bonus: they provided swim towels in the room, very convenient). There was nothing to complain about the breakfast; you could enjoy it while overlooking the lake, and there was plenty of variety in terms of food. We had also requested a baby crib, and they had prepared it for us along with baby products. A little lower than the hotel, you can take the bus to Überlingen. There's a good connection with two buses per hour.

    This is a great place! Beautiful location, and the staff takes excellent care of it. Clean modern rooms with nice views. The restaurant offers several options for dinner and all of excellent taste. Local products are used. Great advice from the sommeliere for Austrian wines. Excellent breakfast. Huge spa area, swimming pool and garden. Hiking, biking, sightseeing - lots of options nearby. Staff is polite, friendly and well-trained.

    It is beautiful hotel in an old villa, very tastefully decorated and with very comfortable beds and pillows. Unfortunately no breakfast is served during winter time, but each room has a coffee machine and water cattle.     Easy access to transport some of which was free for tourists, particularly the buses and the trains. Boat ferries run everywhere around the lake quaint side streets with shops and restaurants and bars. Has quite an interesting history being in such a strategic location.

    I only stayed 1 night, as a stop on my way to Italy. Lovely city, I will for sure go back (and likely tour the whole lake). Only downside is to get there: roads were packed as hell, with lots of traffic jams. Much like the Italian lakes.

    We were in Bregenz on the 23rd and 24th of August 2025. It was a coincidence that the Hafen Fest was on those days, and I cannot judge what is Bregenz usually like. For us there were too many people on the lake shore... but I know some people love this. The best places for me, must-sees: 1. Pfänderbahn (in good weather) 2. Lake shore (always, but especially at sunset) 3. Old downton (and Uppertown) We went everywhere on foot, and it suited us perfectly well.

    The abbey complex is the place you want to see if you are interested in history: the museum, the vault and the library are amazing and absolutely worth the visit (and the price, that is even cheap). Getting around the town is easy, both walking and using the public transportation. If you arrive by car, remember that a great part of the center is not accessible, but there are parking areas open 24/7 that cost 20 CHF for 24h.

    We visited friends here and enjoyed the views over the lake and wandering around the waterfront. The city is known for the obvious focus of boating, bathing, and relaxing, but we also found a nice, downtown with historical charm. Try the Muenster St, Nikolaus for relics and an up-close trip back in time, and then explore the old town around it.

Hop on the bus (very simple to use and covered by the hotel tourist card) to visit nearby towns, get to the train station, or the ferry station. We were able to visit Lindau-Insel on a day trip by bus/train, spend 5-6 hours there, and still made it back in time for dinner and watching the sunset over the lake. Konstanz, and Insel Mainau are easily reachable by bus/ferry.

    Lovely old town on the Bodensee and Rhine.

    Lovely old town on the Bodensee and Rhine. Beautiful walks along the River and Bodensee, very chilled, relaxed vibe along the river and around the lake. Make sure you go to Mainau Inselblumen, like Kew Gardens on steroids, but on an island.
