- From US$424.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 974 reviewsHow can one encapsulate the exceptional staff of this Falkensteiner hotel in words? The incredibly friendly receptionist meets guests with an ever-present smile, professionality, sincerity and youthful enthusiasm. She had no problem going the extra mile to ensure guests were satisfied. After our stay at the hotel, we can state the same for all staff members. Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is a textbook example of top hotel service and a source of inspiration for all hotels developing their luxury offer. The Aquapura SPA Wellness Centre stretches a staggering 3600 square metres and is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious in this part of Europe. A rich offer includes an indoor and outdoor pool, a panoramic sauna in the garden and a relaxation space with water beds and a SPA cinema. Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is absolutely one of the most prestigious hotels within the Falkensteiner portfolio. Similarly to a world-class athlete, it faces the task of beating its own standards and thus retaining its spot among the best in the hotel industry. When we last evaluated the hotel, the Falkensteiner hotel group had only started managing it. Today, it is in peak performance and is ageing almost as well as the finest Bordeaux wines. The hotel has stood the test of time, considering fifteen years have passed since the last substantial investment. Is the hotel the flagship of tourism in Carinthia? Undeniably. Led with German precision and flaunting Austrian charm, the hotel is superb in every segment.Guest review byGorazdSlovenia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 467 reviewsUpon checking in, we were provided with a Berchtesgaden card each, which provided us with free transport in the area and discounts at multiple attractions, we were also provided a map and booklet showcasing the attractions accessible with the card. Our room was perfect, plenty of space, and a balcony with seating area. The room was cleaned on each of the four days we stayed and the cleaning staff were very friendly when we bumped into them in the corridors. Breakfast was fantastic, with a full continental range on offer, some hot cooked items, and a hot drinks machine. As for location, it couldn't be any better situated unless it was on the lake itself, it's less than a minute walk to the ferry terminal, very close to lots of paths for any walkers, and 5 minutes walk from the bus station if you want to use your Berchtesgaden card to tour the local area. I would also highly recommend eating in the hotel restaurant in the evening at least once. The venison goulash had so much flavour, and is my favourite meal of our 2 week tour of Germany and Austria, and the boiled beef was great too!Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom
- From US$739.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 811 reviewsThe few days we spent at Grandhotel Giessbach were truly like a dream. The hotel’s stunning natural scenery, historical architecture, and peaceful atmosphere captivated us from the very first moment. Everything was thoughtfully planned and flawless. However, one of the most important details that made our stay so special was meeting Kris Jungo, who works at the Front Office. Kris was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. He made us feel right at home. He patiently answered all our questions and enhanced our vacation with his recommendations, making it much more enjoyable. Kris’s professionalism and warmth were a wonderful reflection of Grandhotel Giessbach’s quality. Staying at this hotel is not only a peaceful getaway but also an opportunity to meet wonderful people. We wholeheartedly thank the Grandhotel Giessbach team, and especially Kris, for this amazing experience. Hoping to see you again soon!Guest review byDr. Gokhan KaralarTurkey
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 346 reviewsThe breakfast spread was impressive! Even though we were there for three nights, we never got sick of the breakfast spread. The salad and cheese bar at dinner was also great, although the dinner courses we had on the first night had room for improvement. The location was perfect! It was right by the main promenade in Ortisei, and a short walk to the Seceda and Alpe di siusi cable cars. The spa facilities were beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the hydrafacial and sports massage that we booked after a tiring day of hiking. I can see myself returning for a longer stay to enjoy the facilities. There are sufficient facilities to keep you occupied even if you stayed at the hotel throughout the day.Guest review byGenevieveSingapore

The most enjoyable experience was the visit to Hohensalzburg fortress. To really see it properly, I would advise going in the morning, bringing a picnic or snack and spending a few hours there...there is so much to see. Other highlights were the organ recital in Salzburg Cathedral and visiting so many spectacular churches.... St Peter's church was a favourite and the Jesuit church was quite a surprise...so much colour! The Mirabelle gardens were lovely to stroll in and also the walks along the riverside. We were sorry not to get to Schonbrunn Palace, but hope to return to Salzburg, when that will be our No. 1 priority.Guest review byGRAINNEIreland - 10.0

I loved the beauty of Innsbruck and the friendly, kind locals. There was a wine festival and the atmosphere was wonderful with local musicians dressed in Tyrolean outfits and playing delightful music. The shops were great with many beautiful, well-made things to buy. It was delightful to walk into the old town by the river and the water was a gorgeous teal colour. Also drinking water is very pure and does not have fluoride which was a bonus. I was so taken with Innsbruck that I can’t wait to return.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you like walking this trip is for you.
If you like walking this trip is for you. The Matterhorn Trail was fantastic as the track was complimented with beautiful places to eat. Food is expensive though with little choice. We found we paid posh restaurant prices for cafe style food. Dont use the taxis, (far too expensive) use the free bus or walk. Walking is best.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We have visited Bled on several occasions and love the lake, the Vintgarde and of course the vanilla cream slices. We have previously stayed at a large hotel very close to the lake and paid alot more money than at this hotel but I can honestly say that your hotel was far, far superior. We loved it.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is incredibly charming, with a vibe that feels much more Austrian than Italian. It’s also surrounded by plenty of beautiful hikes (which I wish I’d had time to do!). I only stayed for two days, and while one day is enough to see the city itself, the real highlight is exploring the trails and nature nearby. The food is distinctly Austrian, hearty and delicious, and the bakeries are absolutely fantastic.Guest review byLuiza - 10.0

It looks like heaven...so beautiful, but stay out of the main village for accommodations. Shop at the small local shops on the fringe. Do grocery shop to save on meals, Coop and Aldi are cheap and they the have better priced souvenirs! Be respectful of the local culture and embrace it all!Guest review bypatriciaUnited States
