We were met by our dear host, Dominique, in a such a beautiful and calming environment of goats, cows, flowers galore, the birds calling, and listening to the frogs around the fish pong - so restful after our busy days. Bring your ingredients and the kitchen will have everything else - one small and one larger dining table, sink, full-sized refrigerator, full stove and oven; dishwasher, utensils, dishes, pots. The bedrooms are comfortable, have good storage and lighting, have fresh linens and pillows on the comfortable and are simply but stylishly decorated (one bedroom has a queen bed; the other has two twins). There is also a cozy living room for six people, as well as a picnic table, various chairs, a sauna, hot tub and pool in the back yard. This remarkable lodging is truly Dominique’s labor of love.

The backyard featured a pond with ducks, geese, bunnies, chickens, as well as a wooded area to feed sheep and goats. Our apartment was cozy and decorated well. It was very clean! Opening the windows in the morning felt like it was straight from a fairytale. Sandra (the owner) was very personable and accommodating making our stay smooth and perfect. She allowed my children to feed the animals and gave them a magical experience. There was also an indoor pool to get the kids energy out at the end of the day. Out of every place we have stayed in Europe, this was by far our favorite. As a bonus, the beds were very comfortable (which is hard to find in Europe). If we could live in the Chateau, we would. We will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at L'Anctovilliere, a beautiful landhouse that exceeded my expectations in every way. The two-room apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished, with a cozy bedroom featuring a shower. The pool was a lovely bonus, open to guests from 5-8 pm, although I must note that its depth of 2.20m might not be suitable for very young children. However, for families with older kids or adults, the pool was a great way to unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding area. Speaking of which, there are plenty of interesting places to visit within a 100km radius of Anctoville. Some highlights include: - The historic city of Rouen, with its stunning cathedral and medieval architecture ( approx. 70km) - The picturesque village of Honfleur, with its charming harbor and artistic heritage (approx. 90km) - The beautiful Normandy coast, with its stunning beaches and scenic views (approx. 80-100km) The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere of the landhouse was peaceful and relaxing. I would highly recommend L'Anctovilliere to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the Normandy region. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at L'Anctovilliere and would definitely return in the future. Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars if I could!
