Highly recommended if you are passing through Wellawaya, which I highly recommend too.The area is beautiful and the Buduruwagala statue/carvings are gorgeous, one of the highlights of my trip.

The guesthouse is in such a beautiful location near forest and paddies and mountains, completely at one with nature. Our host, Charlie, as well as his wife and mother were the most kind and friendly hosts. After learning it was our honeymoon they got us a cake and balloons and candles to celebrate which was so thoughtful of them. The food there was wonderful - all home cooked with homegrown ingredients (you can see where they grow their cinnamon, pepper, vegetables, rice and so much more). Charlie also was an excellent tour guide as well, taking us to a water safari in Gal Oya, and up the nearby mountain (that was so stunning, you definitely should go. There are rice paddies, tea plantations and the most beautiful views in the region). He also took us to a nearby waterfall with natural pools that was stunning, and we were the only ones there. There are so many more things to do, we wished that we could have stayed longer, and would really like to come back. It's such an underrated region but will recommend to everybody to visit. The room itself was lovely and spacious with a separate living area and even a kitchen if we wanted to use it. We also loved the little treehouse to sit and enjoy the view and take in all the sounds of the nature around. Oh, and usually we would expect mosquitos when staying somewhere so rural but there were no mosquitoes at ALL. Neither of us wore repellent and we didn't get a single bite... That is unheard of for us. We recommend this place so highly - stay!

White Square Home-stay si trova a Wellawaya, nella regione Monaragala District, a 35 km da Ponte dai nove archi. The hosts were amazing. So welcoming to our family and open. We had the most incredible dinner and breakfast cooked by them and shared with the two families. We learnt a lot about Sri Lankan culture and would highly recommend other people to stay.

The whole property was perfect for our family of four. We have 2 young kids (2 and 5 years old), and they loved playing with the dogs, and running around in the large yard area. My son spent all his time catching frogs and lizards while my daughter chased him around. It was safe and fun for them to explore. We saw monkeys in the trees, and peacocks roaming around the property. The food was really delicious. Home cooked, healthy, and tasty. The owner was there during our stay and we enjoyed getting to know him. He has so much experience and knowledge about the area, and was very accommodating to us. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Roshani was so attentive, thorough and communicative. She not only provided accommodations but invited me on various cultural experiences so I could get a first hand experience. I highly recommend staying here!

A 36 km da Tempio di Kataragama, Forest Tree Top Holiday Resort prevede oltre agli alloggi anche un ristorante, un giardino, una terrazza e un bar. Bhatiya and his family are excellent, such good hosts and serve amazing food. We stayed with them for one night on their 20 acre fruit farm and had such a good time. Bhati offered to pick us up from Buttala, then we got to their place around midday. This gave us time for a delicious lunch, followed by a walking tour of the farm to see the crops and all the surrounding nature, and a sunset drive to some local lakes to see some excellent bird life. You get to sleep in an open sided building on the first floor, and feel really in touch with nature listening to the sounds of the night. Next day, Bhati took us on a safari in his own safari jeep to Yala (Galge entrance) for a fair price. He was such a knowledgeable guide, we saw loads of animals and had a great time (including amazing food again for breakfast and lunch). While we weren't lucky enough to see a leopard on this occasion, we were on the trail of the alarm calls for one but it went deeper into the bush. We really appreciated going to the part of Yala that we did - while it's harder to spot leopards using the Galge entrance than the more popular entrances further south, we valued being one of 10-15 vehicles we saw that day, instead of one of 100-200 that often enter the more popular blocks. All in all, an amazing experience, and a definite highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka.

Micheal è un host speciale: gentile, accogliente e sempre disponibile. La stanza è semplice ma pulita, e ci ha coccolati con colazioni e cene deliziose. È bello incontrare persone che vivono con semplicità e sorridono con il cuore. Lo consigliamo davvero!
