This is a very nice hostel. Very cosy and very comfy 24/7 facilities. It is possible to self check in at any hour, and there is basic food to purchase in the kitchen too at any hour - quite handy (tea, coffee, beer, oatmeal, instant noodle etc). The common area is very neat and nice - i spent quite a lot of time there, chilling after a hike, cooking and eating food and even working on my laptop. I stayed in a female only dorm, that has 6 comfy beds, and there were 2 toilets and 2 showers just for our room, so i never had to wait to have a shower etc. There are hair dryers available, and a whole separate drying room both for laundry and wet clothes after a hike. Beds were perfect, pillows were perfect, not creaky as in some dorms. With very good quality bedsheets and towels. Overall, if i am in betws y coed again, i will certainly stay in Gwersyll Cyntaf Eryri.

It was only an hour to Anglesey so great for exploring Snowdonia. Having the option to eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel was so convenient. The room had an enormous bedroom and ensuite making it easy to move around with all our luggage. There is nothing I could fault this property on.

Great location within Betws Y Coed. We enjoyed the breakfast that was included, unlimited continental and a small cooked breakfast. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. We were able to take our dog and were provided with a dog friendly area to eat breakfast. Good drinks on tap at the bar too. The complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and shower gels were a very nice touch. Comfortable bed. Our dog liked the dog treats left out in the reception area
Obliging staff no matter who was on duty. Housekeeping lady greeted me on the first full day to check if I needed anything.(One or two past reviews reported bad service, so obviously they've made an effort to set things right.) Food good mostly, facing competition from other places. TV worked efficiently, catch-up included, enabling me to follow election campaigns daily. The seriously dog-friendly policy was much appreciated by two people in my party.
Lovely pet friendly hotel. Rooms were small but adequate and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities and complementary chocolate. Breakfast was included for us and was good- it included cooked options and basic cold options. The restaurant staff were always fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. They were really attentive and went out of their way to help. We were able to get dog friendly tables for breakfast and dinner. The restaurant was really good for dinner too! Great view from the room.
Gwyneth is a warm kind friendly and helpful host, the property is beautifully laid out and well appointed, including separate decent sized freezer, particularly nice was to find a tray of goodies including tea coffee and biscuits and even a bottle of wine which was delicious. The TV is smart with all the usual apps. The location is calm and peaceful, with pleasant surroundings and the added interest and cuteness of their donkeys! The place is very pet friendly with our own secure garden and towels and blankets for our dog.
The location was perfect for the places we had come to visit. The welcome was very warm and the room, overlooking the river, was delightful. Tea and coffee aplenty and very cozy. This hotel is certainly very pet friendly and this seems to draw in a lot of trade. We dog owners are so grateful these places exist and are so welcoming to our furry friends.
The breakfast was lovely good choices and cooked to perfection. The location was beautiful stunning views a stone throw from hotel. Plenty of parking on site. Pet friendly but we had no problem with the dogs that were there all well behaved .
It’s location, it’s character and gardens, it’s also pet friendly and they provided a dog bed and doggie box which was a nice touch, made our dog feel welcome which most hotels don’t
