Maio: hotel e case pet friendly

A.M.A Appartament si trova a Calheta Do Maio, nella regione Maio, a 900 metri da Spiaggia di Ponta Preta. "As Good as it gets". I had an absolutely brilliant vacation in this apartment and on the island of Maio. Originally booked for two nights, I stayed a full week and did not stay any longer because my schedule wouldn't permit it. The apartment itself, while not luxurious, has absolutely everything one needs for a great Beach vacation. It is large, full of light, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with absolutely everything one needs for everyday living. The location cannot be any better, being a 10 minute walk to the nicest wild beach of the island, and 10 minutes in the other direction to the town's center. The large roof allows for unobstructed views of the sea, and I found myself having all my breakfasts and lunches on the roof in front of the ocean. Without any doubt, the highlight of my visit were the hosts, Alessandra and Ilário, who took hospitality to an unprecedented high standard. They are immersed in the local community and go out of their way to introduce their guests to the island and its communities. My visit to the island would have been way less engaging and interesting without their hospitality. Solid 10, and highly recommended.

Casa Djarmai Boutique Apartments si trova a Vila do Maio, a 400 metri da Praia de Biche Rocha e 2,3 km da Spiaggia di Ponta Preta. Ci hanno collocati nella suite nonostante avessimo prenotato un appartamento standard. Struttura pulita e curata nel dettaglio. I proprietari italiani sono stati molto disponibili fornendoci tutte le informazioni necesserie per vivere al meglio il soggiorno. A cinque minuti a piedi da strada e spiaggia principale del paese. Offrono transfer da e per porto/aeroporto.

Situato in posizione fronte spiaggia a Vila do Maio, il Hotel Casa Evora - luxury and beach front offre una terrazza. La struttura vanta un salone in comune e un ristorante. This place was great! Staff was friendly, room was big and clean (was also cleaned every day), the location was perfect, breakfast was good and served on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Would have stayed longer if I could have (unfortunately we were depending on the ferry to Santiago)

A 1,2 km da Praia de Biche Rocha, Guest House Maio offre un barbecue e alloggi dotati di patio e WiFi gratuito. Franklin and his family are very open and friendly, we even got picked at the harbour to take us to the Appartement. The house is a little bit on the outskirts of town, but this makes it very quiet and gives a nice rural feeling. Anything we needed the Host was ready to give or help us. We could use the Appartement the whole day of our check out and Franklin gave us a ride to the harbour again. Thanks for the very nice stay!

Barracudamaio si trova a Morro e mette a disposizione alloggi dotati di area salotto. Il WiFi gratuito è a disposizione in tutta la struttura e c’è un parcheggio privato disponibile sul posto. I absolutely adored everything about Barracudamaio. Mona and Christophe have worked so hard to create a beautiful space for an exceptional travel experience. It's very close to a secluded beach where you can relax and have some alone time, as well as see the incredible turtles (with Christophe as your guide). I was taught upon arrival how to take a 'bulea' (free ride) with the locals, so very easy (and safe for solo female travellers) to catch a lift to the next town. The accommodation is exceptional in itself and is well thought out with sustainability in mind and furnished beautifully. They both shared their story over delicious dinners (thank you, Mona) about their journey in building Barracudamaio, and I think it's such a beautiful way to live and to help travellers understand the integrity behind creating a sustainable and welcoming space like theirs. Mona and Christophe are such wonderful people with a lot of life experience, and I am so glad to have had the chance to meet them on my travels. Oh and I love their two dogs, Lulu and Irmã. I am returning for my second stay next week - looking forward to seeing them all again! :)
