We were anxious about the accommodation being close to the road, but it was not an issue at all. Our bedroom balcony extended over the picturesque riverbed. The guest house has recently been renovated in a tasteful, thoughtful manner. We have stayed at accommodations of all budgets, from private multi level ocean front houses to places like this with shared bathrooms. We loved our stay here, there were ample bathrooms, they were modern and immaculately clean, we enjoyed meeting other guests and finding out tips on where to go. The hosts David and Yoshiko are amazing. The Family Mart next door was handy for snacks. Our two teens enjoyed as much as we did the Ramen restaurant and Izakaya close by. Two nights here was not enough for our family of four ( two teens, mom and dag )

It’s nice and quiet with only sounds of nature audible. The bathing facilities are in a separate small building, which makes the place quite unique. The hosts made a very flexible check in possible and prepared some refreshments.

Consiglio vivamente a chi cerchi un modo alternativo di sperimentare il Giappone di trascorrere qualche giorno qui, girovagando per la valle. the Shimanto valley is truly beautiful, the hills are covered with natural forests, the rural landscape recalls ancient Japan, far from the frenzy of the big cities. We were hosted in a traditional house, a few steps from the river, which our host, always attentive to our needs, tried to make as comfortable as possible considering its nature. I highly recommend anyone looking for an alternative way to experience Japan to spend a few days here wandering araound the valley.

My party had mechanical failure with one of our bikes when we arrived in the middle of a snow storm, and Ono-san went completely above and beyond to help us solve the problem and get where we wanted to go. The rooms were also very clean and nice. Thank you so much for your help and for a wonderful stay!
