We decided to stay at Arenal Observatory Lodge by the photos, reviews and mainly by its location away from the roads and closer to the Arenal volcano and, after staying there, we now realized that we’ve made the perfect choice. Once you arrive there, you just notice that you’re surrounded by magnificent gardens and you have at your disposal several trails through those gardens and across the rain forest. The swimming pool and jacuzzi it’s a very pleasant addition to the property. The team was very professional and friendly; the restaurant was really good and the food was nice with plenty of options in the menu; all the space and surroundings is well kept and clean. We’ve made the guided night tour and we loved it. Besides that, we’ve made some of the trails and enjoyed it a lot. Our room was one of those facing the Arenal volcano with a wide window directly to a balcony from where we can enjoy the peaceful forest and the view of the volcano. The room was large and the bathroom had a lot of space. The rooms doesn’t have TV set and no AC is available, but they have a ceiling fan that is more than enough for you to get refreshed by its breeze. It was the perfect room. The breakfast had plenty of buffet options besides the menu choice and everything was really good. A can say, definitely, that, if I’ll travel again to the Arenal region, I’ll stay in the Arenal Observatory Lodge again!

Very safe also for female solo travel, even if it’s a bit isolated. The tent is really functional and it’s like a proper room with all comforts. I had a lovely time also with Felix and the cows that live in front of the tent. It was a blessing to wake up in the nature like that! And it’s in front of a volcano!

Hotell Boutique Casa Del Rio asub Fortunas, 4,1 km kaugusel La Fortuna joast ja 6,3 km kaugusel Kalambu kuumaveeallikatest. Great service, amazing food with many ingredients grown at the same facilities (eggs, fish, coffee, etc.). Comfortable rooms and a feeling of contact with nature. I loved to fall asleep with the sound of the river at night.

Had an awesome visit! There are SO many great sodas and places to eat at in town, we didn't necessarily want to pay for included breakfast. The kitchenette was perfect, and we could re-heat leftovers etc, but it really felt more like staying at our own place. We hardly saw another person (staff or guests, but we know they were there!) the whole time, and it was so peaceful. Staff was very responsive to questions via Whatsapp, and the instructions for getting in and out of the gate/ parking area/ keys etc were very clear.

Las Pavitas Cottages asub Fortunas, 14 km kaugusel La Fortuna joast ja 7,5 km kaugusel Kalambu kuumaveeallikatest. Kohapeal on tasuta WiFi-ühendus ja aed, kus on terrass ja kust avaneb vaade mägedele.... The view is amazing ! Has everything as advertised. We loved having breakfast while watching the colibris. During the evening we had a firefly show and the visit of the biggest toad.

Quinta Esencia features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Alajuela City, 13 km from Poas National Park. Super location in the middle of nature. Nice views , very convenient to observe the birds bei just sitting on the balcony. Easy checkin with code system.

The place is marvelous, very clean and welcoming, really close to the nature! Make sure to take the boat trip and say hello to Mantequilla and Princesa, the hotel pets.

Boasting an outdoor pool and a hot tub, La Finca Lodge is located in Fortuna, 35 km from La Fortuna Waterfall. Complimentary WiFi is available. We really enjoyed staying at La Finca. We managed to see lots of animals and beautiful plants. The hammock on the terrace was so amazing! The pool and the hot tub are also relaxing after a tiring day. There are mini horses and donkeys in the property,they were really cute.
