Huge park, larger than Central Park in NYC. Lots of trails and paths, beautiful landscaping and gardens. Cal Academy of Sciences is a must visit with a planetarium, aquarium, and rainforest inside. We walked along the bay from Pier 33 it us a long way but plenty of places to stop grab food or coffee and you see some quaint places. We took a bus back from the visitor centre at the top by the toll gates. The location near the Painted Ladies is so convenient for Golden Gate Park, Haight St, and getting up to Pier 39 etc. The room was absolutely beautiful. It was well equipped with a fridge, coffee machine, and a nice seating area to enjoy an afternoon tea. There was a fan and even a white noise machine provided which I appreciated so much as a light sleeper, but the bed was so comfy and the house so quiet I slept great! Golden Gate park has sooo much to offer including its history. There's a conservatory, a Japanese tea garden, stables, two museums, countless wooded and grassy areas for any kind of sport or recreational exercise, they've even got Bison.
