Both the blue lagoon and the airport were relatively near the hotel which was very practical. There was a volcano eruption 2 years ago so the town was abandoned. It feels like a ghost town with kms of cooled lava around it which is interesting. It was absolutely amazing. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and kind. The restaurant is very good. Of course, we visited the Blue Lagoon, which was a great experience. The hotel offers a shuttle service, but ist’s just a 20 minute walk through the lava fields that is an adventure on its own (on a solid path of course). It is right next to The Blue Lagoon and near the airport . The lounge area was very cozy and the restaurant was exceptional and reasonably priced.
