The staff are extremely kind! Made the stay so much better. Breakfast is really great for a small sized hotel and has some variety from day to day. View is incredible while sipping coffee. Beds are very comfortable, water pressure is great with nice bathrooms and everything is kept very clean.

We had the best time here. The hotel is very central so you can walk to most of the sights. Rooms were very clean and got cleaned on request. Breakfast is served in their partner hotel, which is just a minute away and has a beautiful view on the acropolis. All the staff were so kind and helpful. We will definitely come back here again!

Great location. 5-10 minute walk to the Acropolis museum and the Acropolis of Athens, two of the most visited touristic places in Athens. 10-15 minute walk to picturesque Pláka, Anafiotika and Monastiraki neighborhoods with narrow pedestrian streets and charming ambience. The three neighborhoods are tourist hotspots with many shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room and services exceeded my expecations. They have a restaurant in the 7th floor with an amazing view of the Acropolis. I booked a 4 night stay in Niche Hotel Athens at a price of 799.50 Euros. I believe this is affordable since I booked a Niche room with a large double bed.

Acropolis

Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

Very expensive for something that takes 5 mins to look around. Beautiful ancient building but a bit disappointed by the lack of the usual museum things: expositions, artefacts, hey even some shelter from the sun would be great.

    Coming early is key.

Coming early is key. I visited in March (winter season) and by 10 am, there was already a crowd inside of the Acropolis, at the only path to the Parthenon. Fortunately the crowd was not large, but I'd say it was a bit large for this time of the year. As for the toilets, they are outside of the sight, and once you leave the sight, there's no re-entering it with the same ticket. So make sure to go to the toilet before entering the sight.

Couldn’t speak more highly of Evripides hotel. The room was perfect - recently renovated. Lovely bathroom, TV etc. The breakfast was fabulous. Terrace also great for sunset and view of acropolis hill. Neighbourhood is thriving with a number of trendy but well priced restaurants. Walking distance to most attractions. We were in Athens 4 nights and loved every minute here

The apartment is located in top center of Athens, just a few minutes from Plaka and Acropolis. It has stunning view of it. It was really comfortable stay, because of two separated bedrooms, really great beds and a lot of space for 4 adults, one child and a dog. There is fully equipped kitchen, two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and living room with dinning area. Every room has separate air conditioner, so everyone could choose his/her own temperature in the room.

Athens is huge, so location matters. Sandra’s apartment is right in the heart of Plaka, steps from the Acropolis and surrounded by lively streets, bars, and cafes. The apartment itself is modern, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything from a Nespresso to blackout shutters and great air conditioning. The bed is new and cozy, the bathroom is spacious, and the balcony view of the Parthenon is unbeatable. If it’s available, book it… you won’t regret it.

Good location, quiet and away from the overcrowded parts of Athens but still close to the Acropolis and Museum, and metro. There’s also some great restaurants and bars in this area that aren’t as expensive as those in central Athens. This apartment was comfortable and clean, and the check in process was seamless. Would highly recommend staying here.

This is a budget option to stay at the centre of Athens, very close to the Acropolis Museum and surrounding area. The facilities are basic but clean and reasonably well maintained. We would only get back to shower and sleep and the small apartment was more than adequate for that.

Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

  • Consider visiting Athens in May or September.

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
