Every moment in the hostel felt unique exploring the authentic and historic ryokan building with extensive areas of tatami flooring, shoji walls and doors and of course the onsen.

Located in Nakatsugawa, さかのみち-sakanomichi features a shared lounge, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. Absolutely one of the best places we stayed in japan. Great food with vegan options.

33 km from Koibito Misaki Cape in Shimoda, 横川温泉湯殿ととのゆ provides accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, hot tub and open-air bath. We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. Everything! The stay was absolutely exceptional, I wish I could stay there for a week. The area itself is amazing with lots to see. The maisonette was even better than in photos.
