Boasting a shared lounge, The Moon Boutique Hotel & Spa is set in Florence, a 10-minute walk from Fortezza da Basso and 800 metres from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Everything was neat and beautiful. Despite the small size of the room, it is set up in a spacious way, there are two bathrooms, a lot of mirrors, all you need supplies. The spa was the highlight. Really delicious breakfast and in close vicinity to the city center.

Tomaso is so welcoming and accommodating, we arrived much earlier than expected and it was not a problem at all. They gave us space to store our luggage and also gave us lovely lunch restaurant recommendations. The house is beautiful set in a wonderful location just outside of Florence. The breakfast, garden and room were super!

This 11th century Tuscan farmhouse is nestled in the beautiful Florentine hills, amongst private gardens where you can enjoy al fresco dining. All rooms offer air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Excellent food. Everything felt incredibly fresh, which for me is a huge bonus. The staff was lovely and available by email for any question I had even before arrival. The setting is pastoral—you see green on every side. There’s a horse farm where you can go for a ride. Truly charming. We didn’t try the spa, but my husband had an in-room massage and was very pleased. Very clean. Recommended for anyone looking to escape all the city noise. A car is essential.

Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace. The service was outstanding. Lisa helped us when our car from Sicily by Car broke down in the piazza (a terrible car rental company!) The hotel is beautiful and fabulous breakfast.
