Boasting a shared lounge, The Moon Boutique Hotel & Spa is set in Florence, a 10-minute walk from Fortezza da Basso and 800 metres from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Wonderful and delicious breakfast with variety to choose from, room was extremely clean and bed was very comfy. Spa facilities were very nice and maintained. Staff was extremely friendly. Overall, hotel was pristine. Would definitely stay there again!

Everything felt incredibly fresh, which for me is a huge bonus. The staff was lovely and available by email for any question I had even before arrival. The setting is pastoral—you see green on every side. There’s a horse farm where you can go for a ride. Truly charming. We didn’t try the spa, but my husband had an in-room massage and was very pleased. Very clean. Recommended for anyone looking to escape all the city noise. A car is essential.

Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace. The location is perfect, the view stunning, overlooking a landscape right out of a fairy tale. The rooms are spacious and super comfortable, the building impressive, breakfast on the terrace and the ping pong table a nice surprise. Great hotel, great staff, we will come back. Driving up to the hotel is possible though challenging, we preferred to park at P2 and walk up the pedestrian street.
