Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Clean room, good breakfast, quite location by the lake.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. We did not have time to use the spa. Breakfast choice was very good. The view out on to the harbour was really fantastic, smell of salty water and seaweed, just like home. Beautiful dining area. I met the owner of the property, who was really nice to speak with. The staff were great too. The northern lights were just so beautiful.

Fantastic location and view of the entire fjord from the high vantage point. Cozy, comfortable, clean and modern cottage with lots of space. Nicely equipped kitchen. Great hot tub on the deck overlooking the sea. Spectacular drive over the mountain pass and through the fjord to reach the cottage. Helpful and friendly host.

From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Set along the Seydisfjordur Fjord, these cottages are less than 3 km from the town of Seydisfjorudur. Each offers impressive panoramic views and a large terrace with an outdoor hot tub and BBQ. Quiet area, great location, beautiful views. All accessories for cooking. Hot tube in the terrace. Pleasant host family, we communicated several times before arriving.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park. I Laugarfell every year in September with friends and we love this place. The staff is always so friendly. Looking forward to next year visit.

These holiday homes all offer a private terrace with barbecue facilities, in addition to a well-equipped kitchenette with free coffee and tea. Egilsstadir town centre is a 8-minute drive away. The property was easy to find, and is very well located for day trips around Egilsstaðir. The house was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. There was a washing machine as well, which was very handy. The beds were comfortable. The area was very quiet, a bit outside of Egilsstaðir, but very quick to drive there. From the open area where the cottages are, there is a short path to a jacuzzi (which was spotless) and there is also a sauna. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. Wonderful staff! Really good restaurant on site.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Receptionist/owner(?) was very nice. He helped us to heat up our food and carried our suitcase for us. He also made some travel recommendations in eastern Iceland. :) There are also free postcard offered by the hotel:) Our room had private bathroom included, and we saw a rabbit from our windows!! The breakfast was also great! I recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a stopover between Höfn and Egilsstaðir
