Company information

I am a 60+ grandma, with a disability. I share my home with my companion, Lady (a middle-aged Goldendox). She is super outgoing and friendly and a great co-host. I love animals, especially, but not limited to, dogs of all age, size and breeds. I also offer doggy daycare/boarding (discounted for guests while they stay) for a limited (6 max) number of dogs or birds. I believe in conservation and using our natural resources wisely. I am a homebody; my hobbies include gardening, reading, computers, dogs and jigsaw puzzles. I also collect TUNED windchimes, I love the sounds they make.

Property information

Leah's Homestay in Hoquiam is our home, a 5-bedroom 1928 house. We ask everyone to Please remove or cover your shoes upon entry. The rooms Rufus and Sarge are on the main floor, with Lady's and Sophie's on the second floor. There are 2 1/2 baths, the main floor bath has a tub/shower, the upper bath has a shower and the 3rd facility is in the laundry room where a full-size washer and dryer are also available for use. The house was remodeled in the late 20th century, resulting in the floor area being doubled to 2,400sf. One frequent comment I receive from guests, "Wow, this is a LOT bigger than it looks." Further renovations in 2022 gave the main floor a whole new look. The kitchen is full of modern appliances, including 2 induction cooktops and a dual oven. You will have designated cupboard and refrigerator space, plus cookware and tableware for your use. The WiFi is FREE and SECURED. There is a pergola/deck off the "office" (main floor) in the fully fenced back yard.

Neighbourhood information

Our home is in an incredibly quiet neighborhood even though we are only a block off US 101. The historic Olympic Stadium is 1/4 block away, visible from the house. "The Olympic Stadium was built and opened in 1938. The City of Hoquiam first got the idea for an all-wood stadium in the early 1930s when it applied for a Civil Works Administration grant. In 1932, the grant was approved. Construction began in early 1938 with the stadium officially opening to the public on Nov. 24, 1938. The physical structure of Olympic Stadium is an old growth fir heavy-timber frame with cedar shingle siding. Built in a truncated U-shape with angled corners, the open portion of the 21/2 story grandstand faces east. This orientation was used so that fans and players would be somewhat sheltered from the wind and rain coming off the Pacific Ocean."
