The Hudson B&B, located on lower Union Street, in historic Hudson, New York, is a magically renovated Federal gem offering highly personalized accommodations. The three beautifully appointed guest rooms in this stately home provide a unique blend of privacy and comfort with the ambience of a boutique inn. Built in 1790, it enjoys a rich and varied history beginning with one of the original founders of Hudson, then becoming a brewery, falling on hard times as a four family home. Most recently a complete renovation was undertaken that retains many elements reflective of the period. The beauty of the moldings, fireplace and entry surrounds, elongated windows and light airy spaces create a serene respite from a busy world. The perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing, restful and fun filled retreat.
Carolyn’s gracious hospitality will ensure a pleasant stay, whether you are seeking a serene retreat or a fun-filled getaway in the magnificent Upper Hudson Valley. A former New York City interior designer, Carolyn blends her lifelong passion for design with her love of people, good conversation and nourishing food. With energy and enthusiasm, she offers the Hudson B&B as a resting point to a remarkably wide variety of visitors from literally all over the world. Carolyn carefully handles every detail to ensure your comfort and satisfaction while staying at the Hudson B&B. Her experience and commitment to quality service assures guests that they will be well taken care of. Fred the dog will most likely greet you with a welcome bark. Ethyl the cat may very well be lounging on the sidewalk in the sun and Fred the cat can usually be found warming herself under a lamp. Spike the cat is very shy so you probably won't see much of him.
Hudson, NY, encompasses two square miles packed with diversity and creativity. There is something for everyone beginning with a lovely two hour ride along the magnificent Hudson River on AMTRAK or a leisurely drive up the Taconic Parkway. As with many industrial cities in the Northeast, Hudson fell on hard times in the mid 1900s and has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence in recent times. The variety of architectural styles is remarkable with a virtually intact mile long main street filled with interesting shops and great restaurants. For entertainment you will find a wide selection of music, dance, theater, film, hiking, skiing, cycling and historic sites. There are also wonderful wedding venues or locations to have a family celebration. Perhaps the greatest attraction is the natural beauty of the Huson Valley itself. A colorful sunset over a backdrop of the Catskill Mountains and the river creates a lasting memory.
