THYRA is a 39' custom built sloop from 1972 . Previous owners were Danish carpenters and did a lovely job turning her into a floating cabin. Warm, comfortable, functional. She's pretty fast too!
Maximum capacity of the sailboat: 4 guests
The sailboat has a private cabin (king size bed), two single beds and another king size bed in the middle of the boat.
1 bathroom.
Individual spaces to store personal things, usb cable, four usb charging fans.
The beds have the possibility of closing them during the day for greater comfort inside the boat.
The crew consists of a captain and a sailor/cook.
First of all, we´d like to clarify some important points to keep in mind when booking a stay on a boat.
Life on a sailboat is very different from luxury hotels or cruises. We believe the closest comparison to a boat is a motorhome, for many reasons: we have the ability to move and explore different places, in our case using both a motor and sails. Our energy comes from solar panels, and fresh water for showers is limited (though not for drinking). The spaces are minimalist but very well organized.
It is important to have this information, as this is not a typical tourist experience but rather an adventure where we are connected with the ocean all day long. We don’t wear shoes, our clothing is very lightweight, and most of the time we use swimsuits.
It is a 100% real experience on a sailboat since it is also our home, not just our work.
The sailboat has a total of six beds. Guests reserving the sofa bed should be aware that it is a shared space and does not offer privacy. For those seeking privacy, the best option is the private cabin or private sailboat
Some activities off the sailboat are personalized. We love offering snorkeling tours with all the necessary equipment, exploring islands, and sharing time with our guests, while also allowing space for moments of solitude.
Regarding waste, we strive to consume as little plastic as possible since it is a global issue that also affects us here in San Blas. Therefore, if guests bring plastic from the city, they will need to take it back with them, as there is no place here for disposal.
We also ask that sunscreens used are coral-friendly.
