Best of all was company and the nice talks. But all was great, the farm is mazing, the food fresh from the garden, the trips offered, meeting many great people and especially the hosts. I plan already to come again

Kepro Farm was an unexpected highlight of our trip to Kenya. It is located in close proximity to Nairobi city center, not that far from the airport and quite close to the Giraffe center. But its most valuable asset is its owner, Mr Mwai, who is a...

Very unique, homely experience. My car broke down on check-out day and there was no issue waiting at the property waiting for the mechanic to come and sort it out which was very much appreciated. Great location which was easy to find.

Mrs & Mr. Mwai welcome you to their home
Home just out of Nairobi, near Karen; 2 spacious rooms that can accommodate 4 adults, sharing services. Share kitchen with a family of 2 and a house help. Family engaged in consultancy, charcoal briquettes manufacture, vegetable and dairy farming and dog breeding. Well kept home compound. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. You’ll love my place because of the people, the ambience, the outdoors space, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples (without children), business travelers, solo adventurers, researchers, etc. We organize and take guests on day-long tours of principally, Mt. Longonot, Hell's Gate National Park, Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island, Lake Nakuru National Park, Amboseli National Park, Tea and coffee growing estates. Kepro Farm (Mrs. Mwai) prepares very tasty/enjoyable picnic lunches for such tours.
Mrs. Ann, Mwai, 64, is a former banker who is now practicing some of her loves - farming and hosting guests from all over the world. She is the one responsible of the day to day management of our property and the farm. Mwai, 72, is an investment and management consultant. He has made encouraging Africans to save money and invest one of his foremost causes. If Africa does not mobilize her own capital for development, she will remain a vehicle for development of other continents/countries. He is also a travel enthusiast. At Kepro Farm, he organizes morning game drives to Nairobi National Park - WITH SUNRISE PICNIC BREAKFASTS IN THE WILD - and day tours to Mt. Longonot, Hell's Gate National Park, Crescent Island, Amboseli National Park and agribusiness trips to see tea and coffee farms near Nairobi. Mwai will be your chauffeur most of the time. Both Ann and Mwai are available all evenings and weekends to share home-made meals with guests and generally make them comfortable.
We live in a quiet sparsely populated neighbourhood. Outside of the one acre, we are engaged in horticulture farming. We also manufacture charcoal briquettes from charcoal waste which, 1. clean ups the environment in the poorer areas of towns and cities where charcoal is used. 2. the re-cycling reduces fresh felling of trees, 3. improve health of users (human and brooding chicks), briquettes being a cleaner energy source with no smoke or carbon dioxide and monoxide emission. 4. creates employment - dust collection and making the briquettes and 5. makes a return for us and the dust collector/supplier. The rest of our farm slopes down to Mbagathi River, which is the border of Nairobi and Kajiado Counties. A walk down to the river is an interesting adventure in itself due to the steep slope. Away from our farm we have a nearby village which is typical of a Kenyan peri-urban settlement, with very many small business activities. Beyond the village, about 2 kilometers from our property, there is a government forest which has a very cool and enjoyable nature trail down to Mbagathi River, where there is a scenic water fall and beautiful bamboos.
