This family-run property is 400 metres off Route 1 and 15 km from Selfoss. It offers free Wi-Fi and a terrace. Homemade bread, jam and pastries are served for breakfast. Guesthouse Bitra B&B’s simple rooms have either private or shared bathroom facilities. They provide views of Mount Hekla or the surrounding countryside. Bitra Guesthouse is a 40-minute drive from Reykjavík. Thingvellir National Park and Geysir are 50 km away. Northern Lights spotting is possible during winter.

Bitra Guesthouse is a welcoming and affordable hotel in South Iceland, close to the country’s most popular sightseeing routes. Those seeking modern accommodation with easy access to incredible natural attractions will find its location convenient and amenities plentiful. There are 17 rooms at Bitra guesthouse, with single, double, triple, and four-person family varieties. They are bright, cheery, and some boast stunning views over Mount Hekla, a local volcano. The bathrooms are shared but spacious and well-maintained. The great big icelandic breakfast is free, the wi-fi is free and also a free parking.

Bitra Guesthouse has a fantastic position in the landscapes of South Iceland, only 15 minutes east of the town of Selfoss. You will be able to find grocery stores, gas stations, and a range of other travelers services here. Furthermore, this location places you between two incredible sightseeing routes, the Golden Circle and South Coast. The closest site of the former, Thingvellir National Park, takes only 45 minutes to reach. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir is a magnificent place to learn about Iceland’s history and geology. It is easy to access the other iconic attractions of the Golden Circle - the Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss waterfall - from the park.
