Back in 1976, Anva, Nathan(Ohn) and their newborn baby were looking for a nice place to build their home and raise a family. They fell in love with Amirim and the fifth property on the right and have been living there since. Anva became an Occupational and Biofeedback Therapist later she studies handwriting analysis as well as psychophysiology and bio-psychology. she combines it with EMDR therapy and also gives counseling regarding healthy nutrition and prevention of illness. Ohn is an Architect, who started the neverending development of the property, with an emphasis on passive solar design. Fruit and other trees were planted, flowers were seeded to decorate the stonewalls, vines and passionfruit were hung to shadow over the yellow stoned floor. The number of family members was growing and with it, the size of the house. Then, when there was nothing else left to develop, the first guesthouses were built, so guests can come and enjoy what we take for granted - Amirim's atmosphere, natural vegetarian living, the view, the clean air, the area, the silence, and all night movie marathons... Personal attention, care, pampering, high environmental awareness, and many attractions in our nature-blessed surroundings – all await each of you... "Ohn-Bar Guesthouse" situated in Moshav Amirim – a vegetarian and vegan village, in the hills of Upper Galilee, south of Safed, on a hill facing the Galilee, Lake Kinneret and the Golan Heights. 600 meters above sea level, Amirim boasts a typical Israeli mountain climate – arid and hot by day and chilly at night during the summer and in-between seasons, while cold and sometimes snowy in the winter. Amirim is located on a southern slope protected from northern winds by the hills of Mount Meron, with sun exposure mainly from the east and the south. The graduated terracing of the surroundings feature an enchanting thicket of lush greenery, fruit and decorative trees, woodsand flowers, granting much privacy. Wooden cabins, wood suites and guest units – each one different.

Amirim, in its format as a vegetarian and vegan village, was established in 1958 A committed group of "nature freaks" settled on a rocky and exposed area, dwelling in small, standard structures. Long years of hard labor, patience and much investment brought Amirim to its present appearance. At a height of 600 meters above sea level, Amirim is endowed with the typical climate found in Israel's hilly areas – dry and hot in daytime and cool at night in transitional seasons and summer, and cold, sometimes snowy in winter. The village is situated on a southern slope, protected from northern winds by the Mt.Meron reserve, and exposed to the sun's rays mainly from the east and south. Like its name, Amirim is the highest of these hills, overlooking the Lower Galilee, Lake Kinneret and the Golan Heights. The village has three hilly extensions and between them are the wadis that carry rainwater, in wintertime, to Nahal Amud, flowing on to Lake Kinneret. The homes in the village blend into the thick woods, and in the yards are stone terraces, scenic gardens and today -- vacation units.
