We are both from large families, living away from our native homes. This requires us to travel to see some family members from time to time, whether it's locally in Ireland, in the UK or further afield in the USA, we love to travel and have been fortunate to have spent many holidays on the continent, in America, Canada and of course touring the entire island of Ireland. Seeing the sights, experiencing the cultures, savouring the culinary delicacies and indeed imbibing local wines. These lived and shared experiences inform much of what you'll find in our cottage, Teachín an tSrutháin (literally Stream Cottage). How we like to be greeted and treated helps us make our offering as we'd like to find it. We’ll greet you with a freshly baked soda bread or scones (from Páidí’s mother’s recipe), butter, jam, and milk for your morning tea or coffee. Need a lift to Spiddal? We’re happy to drop you—but you may need a taxi back, especially if we’ve poured ourselves a glass of wine! We can advise and help organise this where necessary.
