Costruito nel 1676 come capanno da caccia per il re Carlo II, lo Speech House Hotel è stato ristrutturato per offrire servizi moderni e camere di lusso, pur mantenendo le sue caratteristiche d'epoca. La struttura si trova a 8 km dalla valle del Wye, nel cuore della Foresta di Dean. Situate nell'edificio principale o nel cortile, tutte le camere sono decorate in stile tradizionale e dispongono di TV con canali Freeview e set per la preparazione di tè e caffè; molte regalano la vista sulla foresta e alcune vantano anche letti a baldacchino. Il ristorante Verderer’s Court, impreziosito da soffitti con travi a vista, propone piatti della moderna cucina europea, mentre presso l'Orangery potrete gustare spuntini e pasti leggeri. Lo Speech House si trova a 10 minuti di auto dalla ferrovia a vapore della Foresta di Dean e dal Dean Heritage Centre, mentre il Castello di Chepstow, il centro città e Gloucester, famosa per la sua antica zona portuale, sono raggiungibili in 30 minuti di auto. L'hotel dista inoltre 40 minuti di auto da Cheltenham e offre un facile accesso alle autostrade M4 e M5.
