About this property
This historic coaching inn dates back to before the English Civil War. Just 3 miles from Banbury, there is a traditional bar, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the village green. The Red Lion still retains many original features, including old oak beams and stone fireplaces. Rooms each have a TV, a stereo, tea/coffee facilities and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. The restaurant was once a bakery and brewery, and now serves fine English and continental cuisine. Traditional ales and fine wines are served from the cool cellars and stone vaults. Guests at the Red Lion are only 15 miles north of historic Oxford and the spectacular Blenheim Palace. The M40 highway is less than 10 minutes away by car.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.2 for a two-person trip.
