Honeysuckle Cottage is located in the village of Mordiford some four miles from the market city of Hereford. It is a very bright, warm and cosy property with two double bedrooms and one single and bathroom with shower. It is in excellent modern condition with a large airy kitchen and living room down stairs, and a large reception hall. The pretty garden wraps around the cottage on three sides and two levels and runs down to a bubbling brook at its foot (The brook cannot be easily accessed from the garden and should pose no danger to children). Haugh wood is a large forest, backs onto the property. The area is ribboned with excellent walks both through forest and more open land, many of these walks start at the front door of Honeysuckle Cottage and accept mountain bikes as well.
I've relocated with my family to lovely Herefordshire from a big city after years of highly demanding career. I know what stress is and am trying to make sure my guests don't have any while away from home.
Mordiford is a village in Herefordshire, England on the B4224 Hereford to Mitcheldean road 4 miles east south east of the city of Hereford. This village grew up around an ancient ford over the River Lugg. The river is now crossed by the oldest surviving bridge in Herefordshire, dating in part to c. 1352 and completed in the 16th century. Mordiford is best known for the legend of the Dragon of Mordiford, which, some said, would amble down from its lair in Haugh Wood to drink from the confluence of the rivers Wye and Lugg near the village. The Moon Inn, four minutes on foot from Honeysuckle Cottage is our local and offers quality cooked food throughout the week as well as a superb Sunday lunch Bar, lounge & restaurant area as well as a large beer garden. Hereford is a lovely old, unspoiled Cathedral City protected from the outside world by its lack of motorway access. However, it enjoys all of the amenities to be expected from true market town and has all the shops one would expect: Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsburies for essential supplies and all the major shops for other requirements. Hereford enjoys a variety of restaurants, bistros, and snack bars as well as pubs.
