Company information

Hi, we are Anna and Tom Purchase, owners of Hanley House. We spent 2022 & 2023 renovating this 13th century former pub, alongside raising our children. It was quite an adventure with a lot of our own blood, sweat and tears poured in and we have enjoyed the challenge. We have continued renovating more rooms in 2024 and added two more in August 2024 and our final rooms in April 2025 We are extremely excited and proud to share this space with you. Tom and I will be floating around to cater to any of your needs and want to make your trip special. Make yourself at home. When we aren't renovating and looking after our boys, we absolutely love getting out into the great outdoors whatever the weather, skiing however the snow, sailing even when its choppy and cooking together. Tom enjoys a good whisky while I enjoy a cold NZ Sauvignon Blanc.

Property information

An ideal bolthole for a country getaway: Hanley House is high up on the hillside boasting breath taking views over multiple counties. With endless walks and attractions in the area, our newly renovated luxury rooms and suites make for the perfect retreat. Each offers a unique experience being individually styled, we love a bold print here at Hanley House and design features that wont go unnoticed. The building is one of many tales; a previous butchers and local store, turned pub and now accommodation and small events space- it has been part of the local community for decades. The original part of the building is 13th century. We have restored this to its natural beauty, showcasing the stone wall and beamed ceilings. Guests staying with us will be able to use this space to relax, meet with friends, and enjoy our honesty bar. There's a log burner and sofas for those chilly British evenings, and a communal garden with seating and panoramic views. Please do make yourself at home. The accommodation wing is a modern extension, attached to the original building yet a separate space altogether. Guests can gain access to the communal bar/lounge through a double set of doors. It really is a special spot in the UK. Every day the views over rolling Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire countryside leave us speechless and welcome you all to share it with us. The two spacious suites benefit from a kitchen, lounge and sliding doors onto a private deck for that evening tipple watching the sun go down. There's a Japanese toilet and copper sink to look out for, an additional twist. All rooms have king or super king beds with Hypnos mattresses, brand new ensuites with walk in showers, and the facilities to make a hot drink. For an additional charge, guests can pre order a hot breakfast and home cooked dinners to enjoy in the old stone bar.
