Company information

Huw was born and raised in Tudweiliog, which is two villages further along the coast. He speaks Welsh as his first language. He moved to London at 18 to go to university and has lived and worked in London since then. Huw is a pianist and musical director, and currently is Head of Music on the BA Musical Theatre Course at ArtsEd, London. Jon is from Sheffield but has holidayed on the Llyn all his life. His grandparents had a chalet on the Warren, and his other grandparents retired to Abersoch 30 years ago. The family history of holidaying in the area goes back on both sides to when his parents were young children. Jon has been a teacher in independent schools since leaving university. He was Deputy Head of Hampton Court House for eight years, followed by a year as Acting Head.

Property information

Bryn Noddfa was built as family home by Captain Robert Roberts at some point in the 1870s, but it has a long history as a guest house. The house remained in the same family until the 1970s. It was the new owners who converted it into a hotel, adding the modern extensions. At some point along it changed its name to Fairway Country Hotel. In early 2020 we purchased the hotel, which for the last few years had been run as a holiday let. We have returned to the building's original name of Bryn Noddfa and we are working towards re-opening the old hotel as a restaurant with rooms. We are currently doing a mix of B&B out of term time and large-group self-catering during the school holidays.

Neighbourhood information

Bryn Noddfa rests in the welcoming village of Morfa Nefyn, along the idyllic Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, and comprises the former Fairway Country Hotel and the smaller annex, Bryn Noddfa Bach. From Bryn Noddfa, take an easy stroll into the centre of this friendly village which occupies a small range of lovely shops, cafés and pubs, while also offering a popular sandy beach for those scorching summer days. The Nefyn & District Golf Club is on the outskirts and is highly rated, while the neighbouring town of Nefyn provides an array of different shops and places to eat and drink. The whole of the Llyn Peninsula lies within each reach and offers a multitude of dramatic cliffs, glorious beaches and opportunities for watersports, walks, climbs, and more. You can also reach the popular tourist spots of Pwllheli and Abersoch with ease, both offering much in terms of entertainment for all of the family to enjoy. Keen walkers and cyclists can head to the spectacular Snowdonia National Park, or if castles are more your thing, take a trip to Harlech or Criccieth. A homely base for touring this remarkable rural location.
