The peace and solitude, got a sunset the first night, unfortunately weather had other plans for the rest of my stay. Chris and his wife were wonderful and even got eggs from their own hens.

The location was fab, apart from the wild wind from the Atlantic! It is a single pod on our hosts land and is totally private. Our host was wonderfully friendly and helpful and offered us fresh eggs! The pod was very clean and 'shiny' and...

Facing the Atlantic on the west side of the Isle of Benbecula, the Atlantic Sunset Pod is located on the machair with open views out to the Atlantic and the Monach Isles. The pod is private and secluded, with only the spectacular Uist coastline in front of you as well as the Hebridean sheep who live on the croft. You will be just a couple of minutes walk from Culla Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the islands. We are five minutes from Balivanich and on the Hebridean Way (about 500m off the B892). The pod has an en-suite toilet with shower, small kitchen with induction hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, air fryer, toaster and cooking equipment. The pod has a double bed and a folding double sofa bed and can sleep up to , although the sofa bed is not quite double bed size. The pod will be open for bookings from April 2025.
Chris and Mercy and their growing family live on the working croft where the pod is situated. We have sheep, chickens and ducks and fresh eggs are available. Mercy and Chris lived and worked together in various African countries, including Mercy's native Liberia, before settling on Chris's family croft.
Aird, a small township in Benbecula is known for its stunning landscapes, including the beautiful beach of Culla Bay which is perfect for wildlife spotting and spectacular sunsets. The pod is a short turn off (about 400m) from the Hebridean Way. Benbecula is easily accessible by causeways from North and South Uist, and there are regular ferry services.
