Traditional Spanish property over three floors with rooftop balcony giving you a 180 degrees amazing view of the surrounding area. The house has been updated with electrics, aircon, and a new boiler along with two shower rooms with WC one is situated just beyond the kitchen through the courtyard and the other on the first floor. The living room is a nice size with two three-seater sofas with a 40-inch TV showing Spanish programs. A dining room for 6 people along with a highchair is also available if required. The kitchen is beyond having a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, air fryer, toaster, oven, hob, washing machine, and hot water tank. The kitchen is in keeping with the traditional Spanish style. Upstairs you will find an open plan room with two single beds along with a desk area, which leads into the master bedroom that faces Calla Ancha having a large wardrobe with a mirrored chest of drawers that contains a traveling cot. To the rear of the property is the 3rd bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe. Adjacent to the second bathroom. Further up the stairs leads to the rooftop balcony with amazing views especially at night with the castle lit up. This property is not suitable for people who struggle with walking. The roads are narrow and steep to drive on also.
We recently purchased our lovely holiday home from an English couple who owned it for 10 years. Angela has been coming to the village for over 20 years as her father lived in Aora and came many times for holidays and also a family wedding close to Alora. Both neighbours on either side of our house are English. We have found the people here are very friendly, we have not come across any antisocial behavior, it is very quiet here traffic wise just the odd cockerel!
Calla Ancha is located two minutes walk from the 5th-century castle and sits on top of Carro de Las Torres and is the oldest street in Alora. the views from the castle are lovely just like from our home from the rooftop balcony where you have 180 degrees of scenic views. Key Events: Three Kings takes place in January and is for the kids, the three kings are transported on three trailers and have beer kegs full of sweets scattering them all over the streets whilst the children run behind gathering the sweets in bags. January also sees the Trail Alora event 12km, and 23km running to Monte Hacho back to Alora, there is also a half marathon in March. Carnival time Shrove Tuesday Semana Santa (weeks of Saints) passes right below our balcony where you can watch the carnival passing below carrying the cross to the castle. May crosses Cruces De Mayo, 1st Sunday of each month starting in May, a festival for tasting local products. August sees the Alora Fair in Fuenta Arriba Square. September sees the Romeria de la Virgen de as Flores which includes folk dancing and singing. In October the Flamenco festival takes place followed by the soup day called Perotas. Always something going on in Alora!
