First mentioned in 1608 and family-owned since 1908, the hotel Zum Schwarzen Bären in the scenic Wachau region combines tradition with modern amenities like a 400-m² spa area and free internet access. All rooms at this elegant 4-star hotel feature a minibar, a satellite TV and a private bathroom. Some rooms have a balcony. The restaurant’s cuisine serves traditional and regional cuisine, including lamb, Angus beef and sucking calf. Fresh fish and traditional pastries are also served. The restaurant regularly hosts speciality weeks and has a well-assorted wine cellar. The spa area of the Hotel Hotel Zum Schwarzen Bären includes a large indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, a new ice cabin and 2 saunas, infra-red cabin as well as professional massages. Emmersdorf represents the western gate to the UNESCO-protected Wachau and is located right at the Danube Bike Path and the train line along the river. The famous Melk Abbey is located right on the other side of the Danube. Activities like guided bicycle tours, Nordic walking, traditional Heurigen evenings with wine and schnapps tastings, day trips to Vienna and bicycle rental are available.
