The place is brand new (works in 2021), everything looks good and safe, wifi goes like a charm, bathroom is great, furnitures are nice, nothing to say it's a great place to stay, the view and the silence in the evening are priceless.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was confortable, the kitchen had everything I needed to make breakfast and cook dinner. Everything was super clean. There's a lot of information available about all the things that can be done closeby.

Surrounded by a large garden, Youthhostel Lugano features an outdoor pool with deckchairs and sunshades, as well as children’s playground and volleyball, badminton and table tennis facilities. The staff is super welcoming, the rooms and furnishing are quite new, and all is very clean! Also check out the whole garden and pool, it‘s all very beautiful and you can relax very well!

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. Perfect terrasse! Tajea coffee or your breakfast there. Nice place, friendly professional staff, very practical placement. Just walk from train station. Do not use steps, just walk with your luggage alongside and after a little bit more up. easy with luggage.

Surrounded by a lush garden, the Youth Hostel Locarno is 1.5 km away from the train station and the Lake Maggiore. i had to check in late due to a late night train, but the staffs were super helpful in ensuring that i manage to check in by myself. got a shared dorm all by myself and i thought the staffs were very considerate because i was pretty worried that i would wake the roommate during late night if i had one.

Highlight was having supper in the villages Restaurant Osteria Salzi (village square). Would recommend both to anyone hiking through on the Strada Alta and the Trans Swiss Route (Nr 2).
