Such a wonderful stay. The house has everything you need, a fully equipped kitchen, little areas to sit and read and relax, nice and comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms. It really feels like you are coming ‘home’. The kids enjoyed it a lot as well!!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The facility is lovely with everything we needed (laundry room/kitchen/cooking utensils and condiments etc). Location-wise there’s plenty things to do in this area. There’re lots of hiking trails nearby. The guesthouse is next to Thingvellir National Park with stunning lake view within 2 mins of drive. It is a 20 min drive from the guesthouse to Laugarvatn Fontana thermal baths and 20 grocery stores in Selfoss. On a clear night, here would be a great place to see the northern light because of the unobstructed view of sky. We highly recommend!!
