If you are lucky enough that Yuzan has an opening book it! It is a lovely Japanese 100 year old house the owners have converted to a guesthouse/hostel. It feels like you are staying in a home. The owners are friendly and speak English well. We arrived 3.5 before check-in but my husband was very sick with a head cold. They kindly cleaned our room quickly so my husband could lie down. There is a full kitchen to use with stove top, microwave, fridge, dishes, coffee and tea all day. There is a lovely lounge area to use. There are shared toilets and showers but I never had to wait for either and the water is hot. Wifi worked great. Their breakfast to order is only 600Y with eggs, toast, yogurt and jam/butter. Yuzan is located minutes from the train station and we walked to all the sights within Nara Park. I highly recommend this guesthouse!

The hotel is a great place to stay, a real recommandation. It is in a renovated historic building in a cute street with traditional houses (one of the main attractions in Gojo) parallel to the riverfront, you can walk along. The room was modern, spacious and very confortable with a riverside view. There is also a nice communal space with all the facilities, where you can make breakfast or dinner. The owner was very kind and helpful with suggesting and reserving places to eat and to sightsee. The place is nicely located in between and not far from attractions such as the temples at Koyasan, the blossoms at Yoshino, and archaeological sites at Akusa.

Every night there is opportunity to get to know them. Very welcoming and caring atmosphere. Cleaning every day to maintain consistent clean environment. Respectful and accommodating. Host helped me reserve things and was open to questions.

SLOW HOUSE NARA è posizionato a Nara, a 19 km da Iwafune Shrine e 22 km da Higashi Osaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium. Stanza bella spaziosa e vicina al centro. Lo staff gentilissimo, addirittura sono venuti a bussare alla porta per comunicarci che fuori dalla nostra finestra c’era un cervo a spasso 😂. Hanno una lista di posti consigliati per cenare, fare colazione o lavare i panni in una lavanderia a gettoni. Il posto è molto tranquillo e silenzioso. Si possono lasciare i bagagli prima e dopo il check in, che è comodissimo.

A comfy guest house tucked between the narrow streets of Nara, walking distance to Nara park. The house is traditionally fournished, the room was spacious and very cozy. The host spoke excellent english and was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Would recommend to stay here 100%!

We stayed for two nights at Natomi - what a wonderful relaxing stay after 10 days of travelling in the big cities ! We stayed in the Tatami room and it was so spacious and the futon were very comfortable. The walls are are traditional walls / doors so sound does travel however it didn’t bother us in the slightest. The shared bathrooms were well appointed and very clean! The space was so relaxing and peaceful - the staff were so very helpful and accomodating ! They helped us to find our way to a golf course when there were no taxis available. We had breakfast each day which was great value for money and dinner one evening which was delicious! The location was great for us (close to golf course) and in a small village which was very peaceful, but it was a little out of the way. We had such a lovely stay and would consider returning if / when we are back in Japan !

We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!
