Located in Udawalawe, within 11 km of Udawalawe National Park, Makulu Safari Camping is an accommodation offering river views. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property offers a shuttle service and features a garden and outdoor fireplace. Fantastic place with a nice view from the tent-balconies. Nice and clean tents and good food. The team working there was really nice and the host Samitha could tell a lot about the plant, trees and animals on the little boat-tour and the night walk. They arranged the 6 hour safari with the greatest guide and driver. Can only recommend the place if you are looking for something that is different from a hotel and more like a 'full' experience.

Steps from Udawalawe National Park, Kottawatta Village offers a peaceful and scenic getaway from the city and night camping. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. The on-site Rose Restaurant serves Western, Chinese and Sri Lankan food. Lovely staff, incredibly beautiful peaceful location and fantastic facilities. We watched a family of monkeys playing in the trees from one of the two swimming pools. The whole atmosphere is just really calm and peaceful. 10/10 would stay here again.

International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

Featuring carpet flooring, tents come with an outdoor living area and a private bathroom with hot-water showers. Includes a torch, umbrellas and a luggage rack.

- Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and wine during dinner This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.

Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, River Glamping by Gaga bees is located in Udawalawe in the Ratnapura District Region, 8 km from Udawalawe National Park. Free private parking is available on site. What a wonderful hidden gem! This property was beautiful and FULL of life. You could hear how alive the jungle is. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. There was a big rain storm when we arrived, making it difficult to get up the road, but they helped our driver. The room was unique and our kids enjoyed the property. The food was out of this world. Definitely request dinner when you arrive. You can truly tell how passionate the host is about cooking and sharing food with you. He even tried a new recipe on us, and it was to die for! It's still our best food experience in our 15 days in Sri Lanka.
