This has been one of our best travel experiences. The entire team are exceptional hosts - warm, friendly, attentive. They work so hard to make this a nice stay for everyone, no matter your age or background. La Masia has different types of rooms, and we had one of the smaller standard rooms. It was cozy and peaceful, and the space outside is just fabulous. There are multiple benches and hammocks to hang out, or you just roam the beautiful garden with its trees full of birds, or have a chat with one of the staff (which was possible despite our bad Spanish!) They also have a good kitchen, with a hearty Colombian breakfast in the morning and solid Colombian dishes in the evening. And someone is always there to make you a coffee or tea in the afternoon and tell you to relax. Note that this hotel is located a bit outside of the town of Salento - but that makes it even better. You will not find the same peace in the town after a day of hiking or exploration. It's absolutely worth paying an Uber/ Taxi. There is a kiosk nearby where you can buy snacks and water, or you walk to the main road to grab a bite. It's a safe and village-like community where everyone greets you on the way. We were accompanied by a friendly dog Sol, who loyally guided and protected us on various occasions. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and willing to please. They bring breakfast in the room, if requested and started a bonfire one night. Our kids loved it. The owners are very passionate about hosting the best stay possible in a sustainable way with great care foir staff, guests and the beautiful bounty of nature by which it is surrounded. The accommodations are a marvel of Colombia craftsmanship and of original design: they are comfortable, spacious, and well laid out. Our tent/ “room” featured a panoramic view of the mountains and a half transparant roof enabling looking at millions of stars while in bed! The food was of excellent quality, featuring all fresh organic ingredients and prepared with love. On a very rare occasion of a power interruption one night, the kitchen kept preparing and serving food by candlelight, which made for an unforgettable experience and tasted even better. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and were able to detach from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We wish we had stayed longer and we highly recommend this Glamping, which is certainly one the best in the region.
