Our stay at Casa do Rio was truly perfect, beginning with the exceptional service provided by Gonçalo and his team. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel special on our honeymoon. The location is breathtaking, and no photos can truly capture its beauty. The food at the restaurant was the best we’ve experienced in Portugal so far, and the wines offered a wonderful introduction to this remarkable wine region. We will definitely return at some point in our lives, as this place has carved out a special place in our hearts.

What a wonderful surprise zigzagging up the farm track to the very top, and there it was: a lovely little authentic house with all the conveniences and a breathtaking view!! We just loved staying in this place and would have liked to have stayed longer, but it was booked! The weather made that we could have dinner outside. Thank you for your care of this little jewel.

We were welcomed like family and invited to a local get together for the evening, giving us the chance to meet, eat and party with the local community, which was an unforgettable event. The accommodation is a grande olde lady, clearly showing signs of her age, which makes her all the more loveable. We were given the choice of three rooms, all of which were furnished with antique furniture. Surely not everything is working 100%, but the building and the host make more than up for it.

An absolute gem in the rough. We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. Nelia was a fabulous host. She made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and went out of her way to ensure we felt welcomed.
