Located in the heart of the cave district, this hotel had wonderful food and great hosts who made our stay so nice. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable.

Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. Location of hotel is right in the centre of Sassi. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was amazing with a great selection of food, probably one of the best I have had in an Italian Hotel. Aperitivo in the evening came with so much stuzzuchini (nibbles served with your drink) that we had to push out our dinner booking by an hour :-). Highly recommend this hotel!

L'Arturo B&B offers modern-style rooms in central Matera, 50 metres from its Cathedral. Free WiFi is provided in the entire building. Amazing place, just as shown in the pictures. Super convenient location and is actually inside the old town area. I don't always go for the breakfast in hotels but the one served by Monica was great. Overall, 10/10.
