Built in 1843, the Neoclassical Hotel Aktaion Syros is located right on the port of Ermoupolis, within walking distance of the town’s historical centre. It offers elegant accommodation with free Wi-Fi and LCD TV. This hotel is wonderful, with the perfect combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. The location right on the harbour is perfect. We spent 3 weeks there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was exceptional - very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were excellent. The only drawback was loud music on Saturday nights from a nearby disco, continuing into the early morning hours. Apparently this affects only the rooms at the front, so be sure to either ask about it or bring good earplugs. Also, some of the showers are a bit small, so if you're a larger person, be sure to ask for a room with a larger shower.

It’s absolutely stunning, the art details, the care the owners have taken in restoring it, it’s simple but elegant and almost like staying in a good friends home. Our bedroom was gorgeous, the amenities were just right, the access to swim is amazing and unlike anything I’ve experienced. The breakfast is the best I’ve had at a hotel! The staff are incredible and go above and beyond, there is nothing they won’t do to make your trip amazing.
