But neither the street in front nor the entrance door turned out to be a nuisance (it was indeed quite comfortable). After it turned out that this was indeed the room I booked, we started to be happy and enjoyed our stay very much. Even the fact of not having the expected washing machine (some sports clothes were in dire need), had no negative impact, as washing was offered and issued properly. Trevor, Banash (?) and his colleagues couldn’t have been more helpful, attentive & gentle. The place was clean, modernly furnished and equipped with everything needed for an even longer stay. Even bottled water and milk were in rhe fridge. Oh, yes, a tea towel would be fine next time. The town is just around the corner. Frances café, 1 min walk, just great for breakfast. We would be happy to return to Esplanade Hermanus and their friendly staff.

L'Houghton Hotel di Johannesburg è a dir poco straordinario. Con la famiglia abbiamo soggiornato solo per una notte nella suite-appartamento con doppio piano e ci ha offerto un'esperienza a cinque stelle. Accoglienza con champagne e rose. Valige consegnate direttamente in camera e vasca Jacuzzi al nostro arrivo pronta all’uso. Abbiamo cenato al Bistrò interno all’hotel mangiando benissimo. La colazione è stata varia e abbondante con servizio impeccabile. Abbiamo chiesto per visitare in sicurezza Johannesburg e l’autista è stato a nostra disposizione per tutto il tempo necessario, ovviamente pagando un contributo. Lo consiglio vivamente a chiunque visiti Johannesburg e non vedo l'ora di tornare in futuro. Un Hotel davvero superbo!
