Isabella was a great communicator, welcoming us warmly when we arrived, giving useful info. for our 2 night stay. She made us feel very comfortable and was generous with her kitchen leaving coffee, fruit and other goodies out for us. Lovely outdoor patio for eating and nice little pool for cooling off after a day wandering around the historic old town.

Set in a refurbished traditional Alentejo house is 3 km from Évora. Accommodations at Governador are bright and come with views of the surrounding country landscape. Some units have a four-poster bed....

This is hands down the best resort I've been to in Portugal. Wonderful middle of nowhere, super calm, with breathtaking views. It offers amazing opportunities to relax both by the pool and on the terrace, as well as through activities (I have no experience horse riding, but I've been just fine with the hikes, canoeing, and cycling). The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. Also, I loved how everything is available 24/7, just trusting guests to do the right thing. The 'Honesty Bar' is a fantastic idea, and since I'm more of a night creature, I also had a great time relaxing in the sauna at midnight on my own, with a panoramic view of the night sky :-)
